In order to participate in MEGAX’s initial token sale, you’ll need some Ethereum or ETH, which is the cryptocurrency of the Ethereum blockchain. For this we’ll be using Coinbase to purchase Ethereum and MyEtherWallet (MEW) to contribute ETH for MGX coins.
- Sign up for an account on Coinbase (www.coinbase.com)
2. After you have set up your account and logged in, go to “Settings”, “Add Payment Method”, Choose either “Bank Account” or “Credit/Debit Card”
3. To start buying, click on “Buy/Sell” and select Ethereum. Select your payment method and the amount to purchase in either ETH or your local currency.
4. You will now have Ethereum in your ETH wallet. Once you have Ether on your account, you need to withdraw it to an external wallet. This is because you cannot participate in the token sale from an exchange wallet, ETH sent through an exchange will be lost, do not send your ETH through an exchange! We recommend using MyEtherWallet.
5. In order to set up your MyEtherWallet, go to (https://www.myetherwallet.com/), click on “New Wallet” and then save the keystore file, do not lose this file or delete, you’ll need the file to access the wallet in the future. See here for a more detail guide for MyEtherWallet.
6. To access your Ether wallet, select “Send Ether & Tokens”, access your MyEtherWallet through the keystore file. You’ll be able to see your wallet address on the right side.
7. Now have to head back to your Coinbase Account to send the Ethereum you just purchased to your Ether wallet. Go to “Accounts” and select “My ETH Wallet” and select “Send”. Key in the address shown on your MyEtherWallet to receive the ETH there.
8. Once the withdrawal is done, you may close Coinbase and head back over to your MyEtherWallet. Click on “Send Ether & Tokens” from the bar.
9. Insert the “To Address”, which you will see on the https://www.megax.io/ website. To see the funding address, complete the form and the funding address will be shown.
Please make sure you copy-paste the address directly, then enter the amount of Ether you want to send and set the gas limit to “250000”.
An additional email will be sent out to you to verify more information on your eligibility to purchase MGX tokens, we’ll be refunding the ETH to those participants who are not eligible. We will be contacting you only via hello@megax.io and no other emails.
Please do not send your ETH to any addresses that was not provided at www.megax.io.
