As discussed earlier here, Virtual Reality is not something that the 21st century has come up with. The technological advancements of this decade have made VR, an invention dating back to the 60’s, accessible to the masses on an unprecedented scale.

But a crucial part of any content medium still hasn’t been widely accessible. The content creation ecosystem.

Content and its creation

Even in early days of the 21st century’s consumer VR, creating content was a major challenge and a fairly costly one at that. The entire VR content creation pipeline, from cameras, story-boarding, production, all the way up to developing content delivery, was very time intensive, using the standard content workflows.

VR is still a rapidly evolving content medium despite being 60’s invention. Early, and quite costly, experiments by brands and content creators have contributed to the evolution of this media at large, but what if a significantly lower content creation expense could enable more brands as well as individuals to use, experiment and explore the possibilities of the VR medium?
