Gyms are closed, and everybody is experiencing some sort of stress or anxiety. Good news: we can use outdoors as a place to release some physical energy.

Earlier this year, the “Get Moving, Memphis! Fitness Challenge” kicked off with a goal to get your neighbors, friends, family, and fellow Memphians moving, while practicing social distancing and partaking in solo exercise routines.

We set a mile goal, you reached it.

We set a calorie goal, you reached it.

And now we’re back with a new goal — on the riverfront.

“Let’s Get Moving, Memphis” Fitness Challenge this round is to reach 1,000 miles in 2 weeks. But there’s a twist! We’re asking the participants to #cometotheriver to do their walk or run.

With more than 250 acres of riverfront, there’s plenty of space to distance from others.

Enjoy a nice bike ride down Riverside Drive with no traffic.

Take a run along the River Line or Big River Crossing and feel the breeze.

Use the Bluff Walk to take in a lovely sunset.

Tag others on social media. Help us reach that 1,000 miles! Let’s achieve something, together, while we stay physically apart!

Report your activity here and we’ll be keeping you up to date on Facebook and Instagram. Every time you submit, you’ll gain another entry into a slew of prizes, including a $100 gift card to the Downtown Memphis restaurant of your choosing…but we’ll only hold the drawing after reaching our goal!

So, let’s #GetMovingMemphis!
