Powerful 42
Yes, it’s you, my dear readers.
Meanwhile, you are 42. Meaning of life, Ladies and Gentlemen! — and I greet every one of you separately with a COVID-19-appropriate virtual handshake.
A Question for You.
In case you wonder, I’m writing a PhD dissertation in Culture Science about Literary Avant-Garde, and my question to you is:
Do we need meanwhile to analyze literary works written by an AI? For example by GPT-3?
I probably even have an answer (coming soon).
What have I done?
I wrote another listicles — but I bet you’ll enjoy it.
Have you tried my 20 Creative Things to try out with GPT-3?
For example, to write a love letter by a toaster?
Indeed, AI gets more and more creative power — but I am more than sure, that AI won’t kill the author (who is dead either way), but will rather be a creative assistant.
Again I became part of the art.
The multimedia artist Holly Grimm initiated a fascinating AI-driven art project, Aikphrasis. Usually, an artwork gets its description. In this case, AI (GPT-3) wrote a description of an artwork, which is still to be created. This was our part.
And my contribution is Merzphrasis: a video, generated by AI (for music, voices, and visuals).
Voting systems are all corrupt anyways.
This said AI to me, as I asked it if it could predict Presidental Elections. I published my dialogue “AI about Voting Systems” with GPT-3 in Predict.
Fun Fact from m̶y̶ ̶l̶i̶f̶e̶ history:
In the Soviet Union, if you’ve seen Swan Lake Ballett on the governmental First TV channel, you could be sure: something huge is happening in Kremlin, like, you know, Coup d’état.
AI-based Storytelling:
This RunwayML-based Neural Network experiment draws AI-generated images while you are writing the story.
Thank ~shirin anlen (she has amazing ideas and I will report you about them more soon here).
AI-created music! I helped to rewrite AC/DC.
Leonardo Gutiérrez explores music using JukeBox by OpenAI. This time he asked me to write by GPT-3 lyrics to his Shot in the Dark version by AC/DC. Of course, it was me a pleasure.
Sto. Nino.
As I was in Japan last year, I was wondering about this weird doll a guy was holding as he asked me how to get to the Universal Studios Japan.
That’s Santo Nino, a robotic Jesus doll that is rolling around and pretends to dance.
Pandalf
I am reading Lord of the Ring to my daughter and she is sketching Gandalf as a panda. Pandalf.
In other news: my poem was used in teaser for Militsioner, a mysterious and dystopian Survival Video Game I’ve written previously about:
Psst. Only for you and only confidential!
Can you imagine the whole Philosophy as a picture? Or Meteorology as an image? I’m working on the new series about my mysterious experiences in one bigger research facility I had around a decade long.
Coming soon. I’ve warned you.
Here are some teasers:
See you in the next newsletter!
Stay safe and prosper.
Yours, Merzmensch
