To German Version

Eclecticism doesn’t blindly follow a particular style. Rather, it combines them into a paradigm that transcends cultural and epochal contexts. In fact, it’s the way human art evolves, only on steroids. Especially in places where cultures merge, we can see beautiful examples of eclecticism, such as in the Mediterranean, where European, Mauritian, and Oriental styles merge. It isn’t a clash of cultures; it’s their marriage. Or in modern architecture — Japanese cities and suburbs are full of impressive combinations of traditional and modern, old and new.

Some impressions from Japanese Streets (by Merzmensch)

It isn’t a clash of cultures; it’s their marriage.

Mixing ideas, philosophies, and styles is an inspiring approach in an age of cultural globalism. Many see this as a threat to preserving their culture, but every culture is the product of a long-term blend of previous eras. We cannot stop a culture from evolving.

In the case of Generative AI, we get a whole new way of seeing and creating things — by mixing artists’ styles. Artists’ styles are not copyrightable
