THIS KINDA HAPPENED TO ME
I Rented A VHS Tape To Watch YouTube Videos
At least I think that’s what happened
I recently brought up Mark Twain’s advice to “write what you know” — at least I think that was me.
So here I am, writing about watching YouTube videos.
As you probably know, the best YouTube videos are shown between 2:35 a.m. and 2:50 a.m. on public-access television. If you missed it, your only alternative is to rent “America’s Funniest Video Essays, Volume 7” from Blockbuster.
Just yesterday, I watched this amazing deep dive into web series based on Slenderman. I assume the “web” part is a Spiderman reference but I couldn’t 100% verify that.
My local library was closed.
In case you’re confused by what you just read — you’re welcome ;)
What I tried to do here was write a drabble (100-word story) for Kathy K’s prompt about what life would be like without a specific invention. I imagined a world in which the World Wide Web didn’t exist — but yet, YouTube somehow does! Here’s the challenge if you want to participate as well:
I also tagged the story “This Kinda Happened To Me”. It’s on, Jennifer McDougall!
