In the context of our course “New consumer trends” — “Mobile reputations” taught by Mrs.Betty Tsakarestou we were asked to participate on a project called “Mobile Me & You”, which aim was to examine the use of mobile phones by Millennials. The project started with each and every one of the students analyzing their personal use. After that and right before the beginning of the final part (survey), every team interviewed some of their friends (locally and internationally), in order to find out more about how they use their mobile phones. In this part you are going to read about the third step, that we took.

Liana Kollia, Korina Simeonidou and I after interviewed two of our Greek friends, we continued our project by reaching to other tow Millennials, who live abroad.

To begin with, let us introduce to you Nina. Nina lives in Ukraine. She spends 4 hours per day using applications on her mobile phone. More specifically every morning after she turns off her alarm clock she checks her social media beginning with Instagram. She finds quite interesting to follow her friends, watch their stories and consuming entertaining content. She also uses Viber a lot, in order to call or chat with her beloved ones. Facebook and Messenger can not be absents from her list. By doing this she is not only able to keep in touch with her friends and family, but also she can keep herself informed about the news and organize her academical studies. Furthermore, she uses Trafi, in order to move easily everywhere in town. Also, she has downloaded some apps that helps her keep herself updated about her performance concerning her health rate and the calories that she burns. During the day she doesn’t forget to put on some music either from the radio or her personal files and check her Gmail for any important message. Last but not list she finds very useful the application WhatsApp.

The second girl, who helped us with our project is called Matcina and comes from Kazakhstan. She spend around 8 hours using her mobile phone daily. She heavily uses Instagram and WhatsApp. She also tries to organize her day from her mobile phone with the contribution of some apps like calendar, alarm clock, maps, a personal reminder of tasks and so on… She uses also the app Telegram, which is really similar to Messenger and the app Mi-Fit, which helps her to keep herself fit. Lastly, she uses tow apps concerning money transactions like Forte Bank and myHalyk.
