We’d like to welcome CAST, the Community Arts Stabilization Trust, as the newest member of the MobileCoin Foundation.

Since 2013, CAST has worked to secure permanent space for community arts and culture nonprofit organizations in the Bay Area and other urban hubs. By collaborating with local government agencies, businesses, civic leaders, funders, and artists, CAST celebrates and preserves artistic and cultural traditions and innovations. Their non-profit work holds the exciting potential to break the inevitable cycle of displacement and enable artists and creative projects to stay in our cities.

You can see their real estate efforts in action in SF’s Tenderloin District, where they’ve renovated a porn theater into the Counterpulse dance studio and preserved legendary street art gallery The Luggage Store.

Moy Eng, the CEO of CAST, offers her opinion on joining the MobileCoin Foundation:

“Free and secure payment systems are as important to the cultural community as they are to everyone.

We’re excited to join the MobileCoin Foundation and bring the voices of artists and creative workers into the new world of digital currency.”
