Experiments in Mobile News Innovation from the Center for Cooperative Media
Note from the editor

The Center for Cooperative Media at Montclair State University proposes to become the digital sherpa for New Jersey’s local news ecosystem. We plan to bridge the troublesome innovation gap between large and small publishers by creating a Mobile Innovation Lab, which we’re calling [tentatively] the NJ News CoLAB. With more than 145 media partners, a close relationship with both the New Jersey Press Association and the Local Independent Online News (LION) Publishers, plus the advantages associated with operating in a university setting and our proximity to New York City, we believe we have the capability to help those partners find the tech solutions they seek to keep local news alive and thriving.
