When I read through the April prompt of Modern Women, so many thoughts rushed through my mind.

There are songs which transport me back to my youth, to those long drives to and from Namibia. Also songs which remind me of my teenage years, before life became complicated and difficult.

My thoughts travel to the very first song my husband and I ever spoke about, and which became one of our songs. There aren’t many people who know it — Tonight Is What It Means To Be Young from the movie, Streets of Fire.

I could’ve written about all of that and more, but it was a recent conversation with my husband and an acquaintance which popped into the foreground.

We recently bought a new hifi with loose components — an amplifier, CD player and a turntable. I still have some of my LPs from back in the eighties, as does my husband, and he has a vast collection of singles, and also several LPs.

But, I also have some cassette tapes, and where most of them had been replaced by CDs, about ten of them haven’t. So, we ordered another component — a double cassette deck.
