I published my story on Medium titled A Girl’s Attractive Photos Aren’t For You, and in it, I explained that men shouldn’t feel entitled to sexual flirtations or favors from women just because the women post pictures — even racy and provocative pictures — of themselves online. I’ll make an exception if there is an implied threat of violence or actual violence taking place, but otherwise, we shouldn’t be judging people and setting expectations for them to behave the way that we want them to from a picture alone.

That story can be found here.

The fact is, a woman posting her picture online isn’t a free license for the sexual advances of men. I have no problem with flirting, in fact, I think it’s fun and can be an enjoyable bit of banter between two people. That said, women often have to deal with downright terrible behavior from men who saw them post a picture of themselves in, say a short skirt or a summer blouse, and then draw the conclusion that she’s “asking for it,” and by “it” I mean that they assume that she’s asking to be sexualized.
