4 Myths I believed about Medium
Medium came to my vision no longer than last year. Then, I was looking for a platform to showcase my writing paradigm. I acknowledged about Medium from a blog on a random search of publishing writings for money. At first, it seemed a bit different and profitable from other sites. Yet, I made a discussion regarding it with one of my school Techie-guy (I’m sure you have/had one, too). His opinions filled me with 4 myths about Medium that I want to state and clarify a little.
- It’s a Writer’s place
“Medium is a writer’s place. Only famous and successful authors and bookworms read, write & publish there.” said by Techie-guy. That’s a complete misleading statement. I’ve seen many youngsters who aren’t professionals in writing but, still they have good follower and reader base on Medium. This is a place for writing lovers: the one who loves to write, read and share their writing’s value with the world.
I’m sure if you’ve searched anything on google there’s a good probability of any or many Medium posts presence. It’s like a normal blogging website or platform with an abundance of writers compiling millions of written content.
2.Only native English speaker
“Native English speakers use Medium, not any guy like you”. I would like you to know that my motherland is India and mother-tongue is Hindi. Will my post perform well like other English speakers?
Yes, it proved me it can. If, my content is good, has a readable and understandable sentence construction with a distinct writing style then, it’ll find reader on it’s own. My highly viewed and applauded article till now is this; “Horror poem works. Here’s my story…” you can check out to opinionate.
3.I won’t be able to succeed
Well this is relative, depends person to person whether I’m doing good or not, it’s in the hands of readers. But, let’s stretch this a bit. Yes, I couldn’t if, I haven’t started yet. It’s all about taking a step for what you believe in and what you want to happen. Imagine, I didn’t give it a start I might be prevailing this myth to others also. So, getting started brings you the answer how far to go along.
4. Who will read my posts
“Come on, Sanju your writing isn’t good enough to get more views & engagements. Literally, who will read them in an ocean of authors curated articles.” stated by Techie-guy.
No one knows when they’re ready or good enough it’s all about giving it a start and try. Just like I aforementioned earlier “ Good articles will find it’s reader on it’s own”, it’s true. Not, all people around here are professional writers, bloggers they’re just normal people having a strong attachment to read and write and want add some value in the society through their articles, posts. Their writing lead them hundreds of followers and good engagements often and without others read it’s not possible Techie.
