I was surprised my last article on How Waking Up at 4 AM Is A Life Success Hack gained so much traction in my personal network.

I received several messages daily asking questions about my 4 am routine and how I structure my morning.

The most popular question asked was what time I go to bed.

The trick to having a successful 4 am wake-up time is to be disciplined enough to go to bed on time. It is recommended to get between 7–9 hours of sleep a day. In that case, if you want to get proper rest, I recommend being in bed at 9 pm.

I know those of you out there are thinking, “What!? 9 pm is so early! I’m a night owl and get my stuff done at that time!”

After you start to wake up early, you’ll start to reflect on the time you spend after 9 pm and what you actually get done. You’ll find the time is mostly spent watching Netflix, scrolling through Instagram and TikTok on your phone, reading emails, or doing last-minute tasks for work. What you may not realize is that your output and effectiveness can significantly decrease as the day goes on.

After all, you just spent the entire day making decisions, taking meetings, and taking care of everyday…
