Depth and light of this life
is not a lone figure
to dance with, when caught
between liquid silk and primal hunger.

In circles of curious people,
among cautious hours,
in this permanence a family stands,
curved to the industry’s hum.

Etched in the waves,
father, mother, child
frozen in time—
would their prayer echo
in deep silence and metal clang?

Or does the diver seek
doses of solace beneath the waves,
while the family gazes ahead,
of past and current yearning,
hoping they will intersect
the spiritual and mechanical realms?

The diver, her spell, in nature’s realm,
remains in this ephemeral anchor.
In their moments, aging
reflections of their dualities.

Their dualities—
balance and communion,
between vulnerability and strength
of sea and stone,
just as their Maker would want them.

Shark, family, and the diver,
indices in His plan,
connected by a perceived rope,
according to their silent prayers,
in their essence,
chanting ‘We are family.’
