Happy holidays to all the spaces that make our work on Desktime (soon to be Mx. Desk!) possible!

Some of you are having slow weeks. Some of you are busier than ever, and we see it in our activity logs! Remote workers home for the holidays often realize they can’t get work done with parents over their shoulders. At CoworkBuffalo, the home base of Mx. Desk, we’ve been on-and-off, busy and slow. Slow is good, though. It’s given us time to make progress on our transition from Desktime to Mx. Desk.

Anyways, here’s what we’ve been doing in the meantime:

Learning how customers actually use Desktime, and how they want to use it. From reading and responding to bug reports, support requests, and questions from potential new customers, we’ve seen that you all have some very smart ideas for what Desktime should do for shared space managers.

One customer has separate conference/meeting rooms, with security codes on each one and different Wi-Fi passwords. Would it be possible, they asked, to have a message sent out to the people who reserve each room through Desktime, rather than requiring her to follow up with them with the same information each time? Yes! That’s something we’re hoping to implement. We already offer automatic user agreements, and this is a smart addition.

Speeding things up, watching the servers hum. Our code chef, Nick, has done some remarkably prompt work of making Desktime faster, more reliable, and easier to monitor. If you’ve ever experienced frustrating pauses while adding a customer or checking off a visit on a punch card, you’ve hopefully seen those go away. We’ve also made it faster to set up a new space. Does the site feel faster to you? Still seeing some hang-ups? Let us know!

Tightening security. The security aspect of cyber is very, very tough, but we’ve been working on it! We’ve ensured the latest, most secure releases of our core systems are installed (after many, many late-night test deployments), so we can keep your space and your members’ data safe.

Slowly forging ahead with the new name and identity: You still see Desktime, you log into Desktime, but we’re inching toward the new Mx. Desk name. Toward that end, here’s a peek at our new logo:

The partners at Mx. Desk wish you all happy holidays, a safe and relaxing New Year, and much success in the coming year. Let’s keep working together.
