The myth of American moral superiority is invoked far too often in justifying American war crimes and belligerent foreign policy.

So many state actors are demonized in our media as the premise for why our decisions are right.

It’s the Russians that are the bad guys right? Not us.

It’s the Chinese.

It’s the Syrians.

It’s the Iranians.

We’re the good guys.

But when you have one single nation in the world, disproportionately:

  • Dictating global policy to foreign countries
  • Using the power of the media to frame narratives and agendas
  • Telling the rest of the world who can and can’t produce or consume certain foods, drugs, or other goods
  • Telling the rest of the world who can and can’t have certain weapons
  • Dropping bombs on and invading other countries

It starts to look a lot like one of those evil empires you see on television shows and in movies.

The United States has accomplished great things and to this day is still one of the greatest countries in the world.
