[1] The Big Bang Theory of the Universe

The Big Bang Theory (not the TV show!) is an effort to explain the physical structure of our visible universe. It postulates that our universe began as an incredibly dense and hot mass that exploded about 13.77 billion years ago and continues to expand today.

There are problems with the theory and some theoretical scientists believe the hypothesized explosion never happened. One of the new alternatives is the Big Bounce Theory, which the Hindu yugas, describes our universe as going through a series of explosions, contractions, and new explosions for eternity.

13.77 billion is a lot of years. We humans have difficulty grasping the concept of millions and billions. Here are a some of comparisons to help in interpreting the Big Bang diagram below (⬇️):
