Now you can continue to engage your learners beyond live, interactive classrooms by creating awesome self-paced courses!

Create Self-Paced Courses

Introducing newrow_ self-paced courses. Share course content such as videos, class recordings, PDF’s and presentations that each learner can review on their own time, at their own speed. Instead of a learner having to join and review material at a specific time, they can go through the course content when it is convenient for them.

Create your first self paced course

With the addition of newrow_ self paced courses you can deliver live, synchronous instructor led training as well as on-demand learning opportunities that covers a full cycle learning program. This provides additional learning opportunities before and after the live class that creates more successful outcomes for your learners.

  • Create self-paced courses by uploading content such as recordings, videos, and presentations and organizing them into chapters.
  • Drag & drop shared course content within each chapter to structure your self-paced courses.
  • Provide a space for learners to view shared course content. View status enables learners to keep track of what content they have already seen.
  • Enable or prevent downloading of shared course content. You can enable course users to download shared course content.
  • Mobile ready. Self-paced courses have responsive mobile design so whether your learners are going through the course on their desktop or their smart phone, they’re getting a great user experience.

Company Branding

Add your branding

In our last release, we announced that newrow_ smart now supports LTI and was already deployed in Desire2Learn’s Brightspace LMS. Integrating the newrow_ smart platform within your current learning environment is a great way to maintain your company’s branding presence.

With the release of branding, you can now maintain your company’s branding within your newrow_ campus and newrow_ smart rooms.

  • Branded course directory. Add your company logo and branding colors to your users’ course directories so when they sign in to join your courses, they are interacting within your company branding guidelines.
  • Your logo while your live virtual classroom initializes. Learners joining your courses will see your company logo as the room initializes.

Additional Optimizations & Updates

Each new version often contains many small enhancements, bug fixes and optimizations that we don’t get to highlight. Below are some smaller scale updates included in this version:

  • Responsive mobile design. Now the newrow_ website, course directory, campus users and self-paced course pages are optimized for any device you and your learners are joining from.
  • Admin role. Need some extra help in managing your campus? Now you can set users in your campus in the ‘Admin’ role. Admin’s can manage your company’s courses, users, files and billing. Users with the ‘Admin’ role can perform any function that the account owner can do.
  • Switch company. If you belong to multiple campuses, you change from one company to the next using the company drop down menu next to the displayed logo in the upper bar.
  • Instructors can access inactive courses + campus files. Previously, instructors were unable to access inactive courses. Now, instructors can access the self-paced course to prepare it before activating the course. Additionally, instructors can now access the course folders corresponding to the courses they are instructors of in campus files.
  • Free uses can create courses. Trialling out newrow_ smart? Now you are no longer limited to one course. Add additional courses to see your online campus come to life.
  • Course settings moved. Course settings are accessible to Admins only. Access course settings by selecting a course in your course directory then choosing the Settings tab.
