You may not have noticed, but our publication has a new name and a new look! We are now Nightingale, the Journal of the Data Visualization Society, and this change comes with a new partnership with Medium to provide us with increased reach and funding for our hard-working writers, editors and illustrators!

You can read more about our new publication and our goals here.

The name of our new publication comes from Florence Nightingale, whose work included significant use of data visualization in a variety of forms. In order to celebrate our new name and our new release, we commissioned three different articles about Florence Nightingale — as a designer, as a feminist icon and as inspiration for new work based on historical data visualization.
