Why?

We’ve spent the last 12 weeks exploring Domiciliary Care (help in your home) in North East Lincolnshire. The project started with a discovery stage during which we met stakeholders at all levels for the service from front line staff and service users to social workers and Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) Directors. As a result, we put together what we heard during the define phase of the project before embarking on our first prototype.

Our findings emerge in two clear areas:
• systemic challenge
• communication / emotional challenges

Live prototype

We have agreed a live prototype as our first attempt at improving the situation on the ground for carers. We will be working with a local care provider and one of their care teams who have embraced our trial idea.

Our aim

Our aim is to work together, learn quick, asses and reinforce where necessary.
The trial will focus on the relationships between carers and other people around a service user.

The ambition

The ambition is to build a platform for sharing opinions about service users, so ALL voices are heard and feel they are being heard.

So … which tool did we decide to trial?

Hospify is a trusted healthcare messaging app for everyone to use. It’s a free secure mobile messaging service that’s compliant for use in healthcare by professionals and patients in the UK and EU. So we’ve downloaded the free secure mobile messaging service to support prototyping ways of improving communication for domiciliary care professionals.
We stumbled across the app and its benefits in the discovery phase of our project. We liked the fact that the end to end service is held here in the UK and the service is for the healthcare arena.

Start date

The trial is due to start on 5th September 2018 where the care workers (who we feel are also service users) will be the user for this prototype.
North East Lincolnshire Council Digital Team and FutureGov are supporting the provider and the team involved. So wish us luck!
