Getting ready to come back east next week for a bunch of paternal visits and me siento muy…excited! What could have been a simple string of shows has turned into a week of wild situations, thanks to the help of Daniel Paul Wolfgang Boucher, Tom Roach, Brian Halligan, Daniel Shea and a bunch of others. Here’s what’s happening:

Sunday 3.24
BOSTON
*sip* tea dance with James Cerne @ Jacques’ Cabaret
Jacques has always been my favorite queer bar in Boston, which has always served as a home to both the town’s best drag and its weirdest musical history. The last time I played here only half my band showed up because they were tripping. This time should be smoother, especially since I’ll be trading off with one of my earliest dj-judys, the only James Cerne. Category is basement room at Quest circa 97. Grab presales for three bucks cheapa here.

Thursday 3.28
PORTLAND
Le Feeling, New Dad & Hi Tiger at The Apohadion Theater
The first in a midweek run of shows with Providence power team Le Feeling, who specialize in live scores to censored or forgotten queer films. We’ll be playing this magical warehouse space with Derek Jackson, a.k.a. Hi Tiger, founder of the Maine Center for Electronic Music, just named a 2019 Maine Initiatives cohort (“a three year program bringing together organizations in Maine that work towards racial equity”).

Friday 3.29
DORCHESTER
Playland
This is gonna be bonkers. A lot of the music I’ve been working on is about lost queer spaces (see: “Former Eagle”). So “PLAYLAND” was conceived as a kind of seance to bring them all back at once. You can find a longer write up about the event here, but we’ll be filling two galleries at Dorchester Art Project with projections, ever-changing live electronic scores, and pop-up performances and DJ sets from the likes of Kevin Micka (Animal Hospital) , members of Gold Muse, LUNAMARIPOSA, and James Cerne (NYC INFERNO). Part art installation, part BYOB secret queer haunt, we’ll be going 10 to 2 on Friday night and taking donations for the Mass Trans Political Coalition (MTPC).

Saturday 3.30
PROVIDENCE
Queer Culture Night #2
Upstairs at the once X-rated Columbus Theatre (You did what you had to do, John and Betty Berberian!) is the 2nd installment of Tom Roach’s Queer Culture Night series, this time with the two of us and the amazing DonChristian and poet Justice Ameer. PLUS: Utterly lovable hosts Matthew Lawrence and Rebecca Mitchell. Presales available for this one too.

Sunday 3.31
NYC
New Dad & Aaron Clark (Honcho) at Ace Hotel
Finishing the trip with a soft landing in the arms of the Ace Hotel with Honcho honcho and star selector Aaron Clark. We’ll be providing early evening moments at the luzzurious lobby bar. Stop by and scoop up some business dads arriving for their Monday meetings. Just a suggestion. It’s also free!

Monday 4.1
NYC
No idea. I don’t make plans on April Fools Days.

And that’ll do it. If you can’t make a show, follow along on Instagram where the Le Feeling boys and I will most certainly be making assjerks of ourselves as we sit in traffic.

Love,
ND
