Nurdiyansah Dalidjo (Diyan) is an interdisciplinary queer writer, researcher, & author who has contributed to the Jurnal Perempuan, Jakarta Post, Overland, Mata Jendela, Project Multatuli, Jurnal Wastra, Tourism Watch Indonesia, Maxmillian, & many others. Diyan has published two travel writing books: “Porn(O) Tour: Sisi Lain Sebuah Perjalanan” that campaigns the tourism ethics & “Rumah di Tanah Rempah: Memaknai Rasa & Aroma Indonesia” that explores the history of colonialism through the tradition of spices/foods in the Indonesian archipelago; & three tourism study books, including “Peluang & Tantangan Pariwisata Indonesia”; “Kota Tua JKT: Pergulatan Pariwisata, Kemiskinan, & Konservasi”; and “Desa Wisata: Paradigma Pembangunan Alternatif untuk Pariwisata Berkelanjutan.” As an activist, Diyan also writes many essays about culture, history, travel & tourism, activism, and queer-related things in Indonesia.
