O3 Monthly Report - June
Hello there!
Here we are again. We made some big moves this month! Literally! June was the last month in our co-working space in Tokyo where we really had a great time and got a lot of support to get us started on our journey.
We received a very generous offer to stay in an amazing apartment where some developer workshops for NEO will also be held. The view is not that great, but we decided to go with it anyway..
But moving in to a new nice office is only just the beginning. Of course we will keep on doing our thing, and keep doing it better. First let’s do a recap of what’s been going on for the past month.
Token sales in app
Asura was the first token sale going live in the O3 token sale page. It was also the only one to go live in June. We have had some minor issues with transactions not going through (because of bad nodes mostly) but we have had a lot of positive feedback from users saying ‘this is the smoothest way of participating in a token sale ever’ and we’re happy to hear that! We’ll keep on making it better and bring you more sales. Next we have a pretty big one coming up in July, which we are sure you all will love! And we have a few lined up for August as well, so stay tuned for more info!
Onboarding
We started working on this already in May but in June we finally launched a new onboarding procedure in the app. Our cute ‘Tanuki-san’ is guiding you through the set up of the wallet and teaches you NOT to lose your private key! You can also select new ways of backing up your private keys, which we believe gives users more peace of mind and will make sure they back up their private key in one way or another.
Wallet screen redesign
Again we received a lot of positive feedback after releasing some big updates towards the end of the month with renewed designs for the wallet screen. Now including logos for all tokens, a way more awesome design and a more intuitive way for sending, receiving and scanning NEP9 QR codes. We will keep improving the designs in other pages as well to make everything as user-friendly and bad-ass looking as possible!
Ontology Integration
Maybe our most welcomed update for the month was our announcement about the integration of the Ontology blockchain into O3. For us it’s a big step as we can now officially call ourselves a multi-chain wallet! We figured a lot of our users hold Ontology tokens, and we really believe that combining the best of NEO and Ontology will help us build that gateway to the Smart Economy.
We are still waiting to release iOS 1.6.0 and Android 1.10.0 that contain the token swap function and Mainnet ONT/ONG support. We should be able to get the go from Ontology in the coming days, and as soon as that happens we will release the updates. Ontology has said they will be ready by July 9th, so you can count on our updates to be live by latest July 9th! More info here.
We also had the pleasure of meeting Mathias Glintborg and Daniel Assab from Ontology here in Tokyo and were invited to join their meet up and do a presentation to talk about the integration of Ontology in O3. We are looking forward to see what other ways we can integrate Ontology’s technologies within the O3 platform.
Off-line presence
Besides the Ontology meet up there have been a series of events here in Tokyo and we were invited to present at quite a few of them. We actually have a lot of fans now here in Japan and we see our user growth is very strong in Asia because of it!
So what now?
What do we have in store for you for July? Are you ready? Are you excited? We are! We’ll start off with getting that Ontology update launched as soon as possible! Next up is an Airdrop as promised in the previous monthly update. We are collaborating with Alchemint to airdrop SDT tokens to O3 users. Registration will start TODAY! It will only be for true NEO hodlers that are also O3 fans. You can register through the news section in the O3 app.
Also we will be working on the first steps of building out a dApp browser. By the end of the month we hope to be ready and have you all use a first dApp through O3.
