Meet Olam Foundation’s shiny new VP of Strategic Business
As some of you noticed in our previous post about Olam’s Far-East tour, our foundation has a new Vice President of Strategic Business. Today, we’d like to make this proud news official:
Welcome aboard Thomas Kofler!
Thomas is so personable one-on-one and on stage, that we almost forget what a well of knowledge he is when it comes to the world of logistics and supply chain management, so here is a quick background:
He began his career in logistics with a family owned NVOCC and forwarder, and has since earned decades of broad market experience in global supply chain management, logistics and enterprise software with a strong emphasis on long-term IT solutions.
A founding board member of the CSCMP (Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals Switzerland Roundtable), he’s held and fulfilled many roles including Owner and Managing Partner at Symmetry Services and has for the past decade acted as Director of Sales & Business Development DACH & GCC Region for a software solution provider in global trade management.
Thomas’s involvement in the supply chain market led him to invest and cultivate broad, personal relationships with some of the most high-level supply-chain and logistics stakeholders from the EU and the Far East. Seeking an holistic, long term solution to the immense challenged posed in and by the industry, he left his position as Director Europe Sales where he’d managed pipeline building and defined the European market strategy for a Silicon Valley supply-chain management company. Now, Thomas aims his focus on pushing Olam’s Internet of Logistics project to its goal of standardizing data communications for the world’s supply-chain network.
The match between him and the rest of the team could not have possibly been a better fit! Thomas hit the ground running upon joining, immediately touring as the Foundation’s key speaker in Tokyo, Shanghai, Beijing and Seoul in order to promote Olam’s blockchain vision, speaking to the community’s audiences at select events.
