I guess we are used to distractions. Whether it’s our phone, PC or simple colleagues and friends. There are a bunch of tools out there which promises you to be more focused again. No matter if you call it “information overload” or “multitasking”. It happens to everyone.

As a content creator I aim for a full distraction-free mode while writing. This is the tool set I truly recommend for a distraction-free writing experience:

• iA Writer: I’m using this tool since a couple of months and it’s my first stop if I need some focus- & thinking time. With the focus- & full-screen mode it is a real pain killer for me.

• ZenPen: ZenPen is a fantastic tool which works directly in your web browser. It offers you a great, minimalistic writing experience. And it’s for free!

• Wordpress distraction-free mode: Since its last update the WordPress editor got some nice face lift. With the new distraction-free mode, I think about going back to writing my posts directly in the WordPress editor.

• Medium: With it’s minimalistic design medium.com offers an awesome tool for writing. But also for having a distraction-free experience medium.com works fine.
