You know what is delusional? Try building a working product that is business ready, looks good, with low funds, after hard times, with 5 developers and with many kids on their nice little houses in their first word countries building fake accounts to say sh*t about your work.

This recent quote by a community member perfectly sums up the hectic pace and environment the team has worked within for several months. After this enormous effort, the product is very near on par with any storage platform on the market — with one BIG exception!

We maintain user privacy from end-to-end!

If you haven’t tried the Free Plan — what are you waiting for?

In the News

We are featured in today’s CoinMarketCap newsletter! We shared everything we’ve been accomplishing with their subscribers so they can all have access to private cloud storage!

Accomplishments

We hit all the expected features for July and more!

Seriously, what more do you want?!? ;-)

Conversions and Metrics

Our new Free plan is very popular!

It’s an opportunity for non-crypto users to become familiar with how to use a crypto based product on a daily basis and share the experience with others.

Also, the new larger Business Plans have seen interest since the release of the desktop app yesterday, so we would expect to see that continue in August.

  • Free Plans (NEW): 140
  • 128GB Basic Plans (June 5-June 30): 369
  • 1TB Professional Plans (June 21-Jun 30): 78
  • 2TB Business Plans (NEW): 3
  • Total Storage Used (June 5-June 30): 531GB

We are actively running ads in order to drive additional traffic to the website and continue to gain on competitors.

Our US website rank has passed both Sia and Storj according to Alexa.com.

Additionally, our engagement metrics are very healthy in relation to other storage providers. We have a lower Bounce Rate and higher Pageviews than Sia and Storj.

Coming in August

We have several user friendly features coming in August!

  • Multi Delete/Download to make it easier to manage files.
  • Upgrade Plan so you can take full advantage of the desktop sync app and larger storage.
  • Drag files into folders within the web UI, so it’s easier to organize files and folders.
  • Upload folders with files inside for upload convenience.

You’ll notice we frequently deliver items in the roadmap out of order. This is one of the reasons we don’t like to publish a roadmap — it becomes outdated almost immediately. Priorities change quickly and some features may become more important than others, or we may find opportunities to release earlier than planned. Usually, we will trade-off other features that were planned, either delaying or removing completely if no longer important.

Keep an eye out in the Opacity Announcements channel and you’ll always be up-to-date!

Financial Update is phased out

In the interest of transparency, we have been publishing a financial update since last year. This has come to an end for a few reasons, primarily due to legal counsel not to do so, but also the need has run its course. We have delivered a majority of the expected product functionality and stayed within budget the entire time. There were no significant hiccups in funding, and indeed, we have survived much longer than many expected!

However, an important note:

In order to extend the runway until at least end of year, we have been forced to reduce the team size in half and have significantly reduced salary to all personnel. This is extremely unfortunate as we would prefer to keep the entire team together. We are continuing to maintain product and business operations, but will be more focused on user traction from here forward. Development of features will be slower and business traction will be most important in order to propel the next phase of progress.

That wraps up this month!
