Hey Opacity Community, you can now swap OPQ to OPCT on our website at opacity.io!

OPCT Swap Official End Date: January 1, 2021.

Our website is the only way to swap your OPQ tokens outside of Kucoin and Mercatox. Do not send your tokens to anyone! We are not requiring any process that involves human interaction with the swap. The swap contract requires your approval to access your wallet and exchange the tokens directly, all on the blockchain. Beware of scammers!

An overview of instructions are listed in this article below and are available on the website at https://www.opacity.io/swap-information. For questions and support, the best platform to connect with the Opacity team is via Telegram.

Exchange Update

Kucoin and Mercatox are both supporting the swap. All funds have been sent to them and they are rolling out support for OPCT this week.

Kucoin Timeline
1. KuCoin will close the trading service for the OPQ/BTC and OPQ/ETH trading pairs at 18:00:00 on October 26, 2020 (UTC+8).

2. To complete the upgrade, KuCoin will take snapshots of users’ OPQ assets at 18:00:00 on October 26, 2020 (UTC+8). After the snapshot, we will convert the OPQ into OPCT at a ratio of 1:1 (1 OPQ = 1 OPCT).

3. KuCoin will open the OPCT deposit service at 18:00:00 on October 28, 2020 (UTC+8).

4. KuCoin will open the trading service for the OPCT/BTC and OPCT/ETH trading pairs and OPCT withdrawal service at 18:00:00 on October 29, 2020 (UTC+8).

Swap Instructions

Click the link in the banner at the top of the home page at opacity.io. The easiest method to perform the swap is with the Automatic Swap option provided and using MetaMask in your browser. These instructions reflect that option. You can install MetaMask here.

If you access your funds from a different wallet, you can easily add your wallet to MetaMask using your seed phrase or by importing your private key. There are also manual swap instructions on the webpage, if you so choose.

Follow these instructions to set up MetaMask either from scratch or to add another wallet.

The swap webpage interacts directly with a swap contract that acts as an exchange between the OPQ and OPCT contracts. With your approval, it will withdraw your OPQ and deposit the OPCT tokens to the same wallet in a 1:1 ratio. Be sure you also have ETH in the wallet to be able to pay gas fees for the exchange.

The swap page will automatically launch MetaMask if you have it installed and are not logged in, or it will connect to MetaMask if you are logged in. Once connected to MetaMask, the page will ask you to approve access to your wallet.

Click the Approve button.

Approve wallet access

MetaMask will prompt you with an approval request to grant permission to the site to automate transactions. This approval is required to automatically perform the swap.

Select Confirm to approve. The transaction will take a minute to complete.

Approve wallet access

Next, you will perform the swap. Click the Swap button.

MetaMask will prompt you with an approval request to execute the swap transaction.

Click the Confirm button to complete the transaction.

Note: Due to Ethereum network requirements, you may need to adjust the gas limit. The transaction should populate it automatically, but as seen in the screenshot below, there appears to be an issue in the OPQ contract that may cause the limit to be insufficient. Please check the settings using the Edit button in MetaMask next to Gas Fee and adjust as needed.

That’s it, you’re done!

You can open the transactions on the blockchain from MetaMask to see progress. If gas was sufficient, it should finish quickly. If not, you can also use the Speed Up option in MetaMask to replace the transaction with more gas.

OPCT contract address is 0xDb05EA0877A2622883941b939f0bb11d1ac7c400 to add it to MetaMask to view the tokens.

OPCT Swap Official End Date: January 1, 2021.
