Create Your Own Tribe On The SoMon App!
HelloOwOo and excited to announce an unprecedented OpenSocial-powered feature, now available on the SoMon app: Tribe Creation!
You heard it right! So far, only a couple of default Tribes were available after the SoMon app launch: Memes 🤣, Crypto 💰, Thai 🇹🇭, Football ⚽️ and a dozen more were spaces where you could post, react, comment and interact with other SoMon users and have fun (while accumulating Points for Season 1’s airdrop due for August 1st)!
As SoMon is gradually opening up, you (yes, YOU) will now have the right to create your own Tribe, and build your own community, an unbreakable on-chain bond between you and your group, transposable across any OpenSocial app, and eventually monetizable in the future as your traffic grows (more details on that feature later this year)!
That tribe could be any hobby you like to discuss about, your favorite team, actor, topic of discussion, or even your username if you intend to become a key opinion leader!
Note: A Tribe name can only be owned by a single and unique EVM address!
When and Who Can Create A Tribe?
Tribe Creation rights will be rolled out in two stages that involve conditions and priorities:
- Whitelist Stage
- Public Stage
Stage 1 — Whitelisted Users (July 17th 12:00PM UTC— July 18th 12:00AM UTC)
For a start, only holders of the 3,333 SoMon OwOG Collection NFTs are qualified to mint their Tribe first.
The Whitelist Stage will last for around 12 hours, giving those privileged users the time to choose the Tribe they want to lead and grow.
This is an extremely valuable right, as some Tribe names are more susceptible to accommodate large communities and discussions, especially if they have a small number of characters. Choose wisely!
During this stage, the system will check if you own an unused OwOG NFT to create a Tribe. If that’s not the case, a prompte will be displayed to you.
Stage 2— All Users (July 18th 12:00AM UTC onwards)
Tribe minting rights will be open to everyone, without any additional restrictions!
How To Create A Tribe? 5 Steps:
- Open the side bar on the left-hand side of the app, and click on “Create Tribe”
- Select the Tribe category you want to mint.
- Enter the name of your Tribe and confirm. Please be mindful that the Tribe name must be between 1 and 22 characters. It can only contain latin letters without accents/special characters (a-z), digits (0–9), underscores (_) and dots (.).
- Proceed with the transaction and click “Continue”. Beforehand, make sure that your SoMon wallet (on Base) has sufficient funds. Kindly refer to the table below for pricing:
- Complete the last couple of details that will visible on your Tribe’s homepage, and you’re done! Congratulations OwO
