People of OST: Aman Pruthi, Software Engineer

Aman is a Software engineer with 3 years of experience in the telecom industry. He is passionate about devops tools and technologies. He is a travel enthusiast and loves endurance sports like running and cycling. He is a strong engineering professional with a bachelor’s in Computer Engineering from the University of Pune.

Tell us about yourself!

I was born in New Delhi, the capital of India. I did my schooling from Pune Sinhgad College of Engineering, which is affiliated to Pune University. My previous work experience has been working as an integration engineer at Amdocs, a leading telecommunications software and service provider. After working at Amdocs, I joined OST in June 2018.

What does your role as a Software Engineer at OST entail?

I work in the devops team along with engineering director Balakrishna Hebbar. My role entails taking care of building the deployment lifecycle and making sure that integration and deployment is running smoothly. I also make sure that anything developed by the team reaches production. This includes monitoring infrastructure, operations, and network security.

What do you like most about working OST?

OST is a good place to be. The fast paced development that happens here doesn’t usually happen at other places. OST is a very dynamic environment, providing the opportunity to take on new challenges. There is also a very high level of dedication from everyone on the team.

Where do you see the future development of blockchain technologies?

I believe that blockchain has a huge potential that is still untapped. It can play a strong role anywhere where a central authority is required, such as banking and government documentation. There’s also a lot of issues in developing countries that blockchain can solve, centralized governance causes corruption. I would really like to see blockchain eliminate secondary layers. I also look forward to see how our Pepo application disrupts the market with microtransactions.
