無魅力男 | Blur - Charmless Man
英倫搖滾結束在〈Charmless Man〉（無魅力男）。「至少對我們來說啦。」Blur 主唱大門說。
興奮的樂聲和辛辣的歌詞是 Blur 在英搖時期的一大典型，〈Charmless Man〉就是這個典型的極致，也是 Blur 最酸最嗆的一首歌。
從旋律到歌詞，這首歌都很容易讓人「同意」，很容易跟著哼唱、從歌詞裡面看到自己認識的誰。
可能是基於這種特質，我剛開始聽 Blur 的時候就很喜歡這首歌。
那是一種帶著黑色幽默的喜歡：我討厭我認識的那些「無魅力」傢伙，好喜歡聽 Blur 嗆爆他們。但同時我心裡又知道，其實這首歌之所以這麼唱到我心坎裡，正是因為我自己才是那個「無魅力」的傢伙。
也是因為這樣的收聽經驗，儘管有很多謠言討論「無魅力男」創作原型是誰，我總覺得這首歌應該跟 Blur 許多英搖時期的諷諭經典一樣，比起針對某個對象的直截嘲諷，更是一種以自嘲態度出發的角色研究。
再看一次 MV，我覺得那個唱著歌的煩人傢伙，不就是是存在在「無魅力男」腦中嗎？也就是說，這兩個人，不就是同一個人嗎？這 MV 不就是一個無魅力男自知無魅力，並因此瘋狂嗎？
但可能也是基於太容易讓人同意的特質，這首歌是我現在覺得比較不耐聽的。
就算從角色研究的角度來看，我還是覺得這首歌少了一點 Blur 往常的幽默，多了一些刻薄。
還是我是不喜歡這首歌總讓我想到過去彆扭的那個自己呢？
也或許「彆扭」恰好是這首歌的關鍵字。當時 Blur 正因忽然而來的成功與名氣而不知所措，音樂上也在轉向前夕。
〈Charmless Man〉（無魅力男）是 Blur 英搖時期最後一張專輯《The Great Escape》（大逃脫）的最後一支單曲。其後，Blur 就揮別了讓他們打開知名度的英搖典型。
