Blockchain events are the perfect way to build projects, network, and discuss fresh ideas with community members. I urge everyone to try to attend at least one event in their industry. The moment you look into a large crowd at a conference, or watch a hackathon demo, you realize the scope of this industry. You see people working hard to make an impact on the world, and (cheesy or not) it will completely change your perspective.

Scroll to the bottom or click here to understand the difference between hackathons, conferences, exhibitions, and summits.

**Pro Tip: If you are a student, many of these will give discounted (if not free) tickets if you have a valid .edu email and student ID.

Hackathons:

For those looking to build or develop new products. Usually a 24–48 hour event. Developers and entrepreneurs form teams to finish projects within the set time frame. Projects are submitted, and winners are often awarded money or other prizes. Often times people will sleep over at the venue.

Conferences:

For those looking to discover new ideas and hear project announcements. Can last a half day or span multiple days. Conferences usually include talks by industry experts, discussions, and panels. Occasionally will be paired with an exposition for their sponsors or industry-specific projects.

Exhibitions:

For those looking to network and ask very specific questions to a project team. Can last a half day or span multiple days. Expositions are large-scale trade shows. Companies and projects will often have booths where you can talk to their team.

Summits:

For industry leaders and executives. Usually, these span multiple days. Summits are large events where experts come to discuss new ideas, network, close deals, and often will be the first to hear about project announcements. The schedule is prearranged, and attendees will be able to research talking points before the event.

This article will be constantly updated, so keep checking in for new events.
