PL^G and Centrality Teams on the stand

The second Japan Blockchain Conference (JBC) was held in Yokohama, Japan, on 30–31st January. Once again, Centrality exhibited alongside our ecosystem partners to be a part of 150 expert companies and organisations in the cryptocurrency and blockchain field from around the world.

Japan has been the core of our community and after JBC we hosted a meetup in Tokyo, as a way to reconnect with our most loyal community members.

Check out the highlights from our Japan trip:

The progress of our ecosystem was on full display

Our ecosystem has come a long way over the past two years, and we gave attendees a chance to see the progress we’ve made since our token sale. Co-Founder Aaron McDonald and Centrality GM Jerome Faury were on hand to share updates on our projects and partnerships. We were supporting Centrality and our friends from Sylo, SingleSource also attended, showing how the ecosystem has been progressing as a whole.

Aaron built a dApp onstage — live

Once again, Aaron took to the stage to present a keynote. Last year’s keynote gave emphasis to the interoperability of Centrality’s ecosystem, with Aaron demonstrating how seamlessly dApps in the Centrality ecosystem integrate with each other.

One year later, under the spotlight was the usability of the tech stack, with Aaron assembling a dApp live on stage in real time. To do so, he used the Syloapplication and was joined by Business Director Dorian Johannink and Senior Developer Scott Twiname.

The successive demos show the Centrality Ecosystem and PL^G framework working to deliver on two promises we have made in our whitepaper: to build a platform that allows users to interact with a range of applications in a low-friction way and developers to overcome the hurdles of building an application.

Our Tokyo meetup was a full house

Still riding the adrenaline wave from the conference, the team made moved into Tokyo. With our nearest and dearest community members gathered in one room, Aaron was able to give an exclusive talk to our token holders on the future of CENNZ and PL^G.

The team was blown away by seeing first-hand how excited people are about our project. Our key takeaway was that the community in Japan deeply understand blockchain technology. They asked highly advanced questions and ways they could help spread the word about the joint mission of both Centrality and PL^G!

Sparks flew with Centrality’s IoT partner in Japan, Jasmy

Together, Jasmy and Centrality are working to put IoT on the blockchain. As a provider of blockchain services to Jasmy, Centrality made sure to amplify Jasmy’s story to JBC attendees. With neighboring stands at the conference, we were strategically placed to achieve this. We also had the pleasure of hosting Jasmy CEO Kunitake Ando (former COO of Sony) at our Tokyo meetup.

JBC is the first showcase event of the year for us and set the tone for the development underway in our growing ecosystem. We’re thrilled to have had the opportunity to rub shoulders with world’s best blockchain companies and organisations and reconnect with our friends in Japan. Until next time!
