Update April 2024: A more detailed guide on using SUPIR as part of your ComfyUI workflow.

SUPIR is a new (2024) model that promises high-fidelity/quality* image restoration and upscaling. Yeah, we’ve all seen such promises before but the examples given do look impressive. Currently their online demo is still in the works but we can try it for ourselves.

According to its documentation, running SUPIR in “full-fat” fp32, including LLaVA requires at least 60GB of VRAM, so a cloud GPU service was required such as Vast.ai or Runpod.

On Vast, the only suitable GPUs currently are the A100 or the newer H100. The full-fat install will download over 60GB of Models, so make sure you allocate enough storage as well as choose an instance with a fast internet download speed. Later I will show you how to run this on lesser requirements. But for now, let’s go all in! 🤘

Running on an A100 (80GB)

GPU Instance : 1x A100 with 80GB of VRAM
Storage : 200GB
System RAM : 128GB (64+ is recommended)
Internet Down : 7.7Gbps
