In all my years as an adult digital marketer, I’ve never seen such a huge opportunity for amateurs to make VERY SERIOUS money in the online adult industry. At the same time, I’m seeing SO MANY content creators struggling horribly.

Some people are literally getting RICH on OnlyFans, while others are finding it difficult to break even a grand per month. I’m writing this guide to provide some expert tips to those who want to break through the $10,000 per month barrier.

If you’re one of those folks, then read on and don’t blink, because I’m about to serve up some little-known OnlyFans ninja tactics like a world champion hibachi chef.

There’s also a chunk of juicy info further down about artificial intelligence and its coming impact on the OnlyFans industry that nobody who’s interested in this business can afford to skip.

Ok, so first thing’s first. How do I know what I’m talking about when I state that huge money is being made on the OnlyFans platform? Well, I’m a veteran adult webmaster who has had various adult digital marketing businesses for over 20 years now.

I’ve been writing a popular blog on the industry for over a decade, and I provide consulting and educational courses to industry folks, many of whom I have guided to serious revenues over the years.

If you’re a content creator or manager looking for the most deadly effective way to snag big-spending “whales” for OnlyFans, sign up for my FREE OnlyFans Marketing email list here. Full of tips and tricks I don’t share ANYWHERE ELSE for free!

Believe me, if you’ve been paying any attention at all to the media coverage of the OnlyFans content business recently, you won’t be surprised by what I’m going to reveal in this article.

But what might surprise you is how reachable making $10k per month on OnlyFans is for the typical content creator, even without huge social media accounts or contracts with big OnlyFans agencies.

Check out my guide on how to get started on OnlyFans over here.

OnlyFans Earnings Reality Check

Before getting balls-deep in the weeds of how models and digital marketers can make $10,000 a month on OnlyFans, I want to first go over the frustrating, and decidedly “unsexy” reality of the situation for most people trying to make bank on the platform.

More than 85% of all OnlyFans creators make less than $1,000 per month. Yeah, that’s not exactly “stacks on stacks” level money, is it? But no worries, because the top 1% of OnlyFans content creators make over $10,000 per month easily.

The trick to making big OnlyFans money is making sure you’re doing what the 1% is doing, and NOT doing what the bottom 85% is doing. But don’t worry, ol’ Buttler’s got you on this — my Camlord lantern will light the way.

Here are some OnlyFans factoids that may help you understand why so many content creators do so poorly as “spicy accountants.”

  • The vast majority of creators on OnlyFans use promotional Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok accounts that have under 1,000 followers.
  • Most content creators do not regularly update their social media accounts, and when they do, often do not take advantage of trending memes, sounds, and topics to viralize their posts.
  • Most OnlyFans models do not recognize the importance of “warming up” their fans to produce spending. They generally neglect to work direct messages on their accounts and leave a LOT of money on the table.
  • Since knowledge of digital marketing is quite sparse throughout the content creator community, most find it extremely difficult to create acquisition channels for fans that effectively on-ramp subscribers.
  • Many models fail to appreciate the value in entering partnerships with experienced digital marketers who know how to generate traffic and bring in new subscribers. Models who do enter these partnerships tend to do MUCH better than those who don’t.
  • The PPV (Pay-Per-View) feature on the OnlyFans platform is woefully underutilized by most creators. Intelligently applied, the PPV feature can triple earnings on most accounts.

So, given that the vast majority of OnlyFans accounts/businesses are simply not being run correctly, it’s no shock that 85% of content creators are not making serious money. As I mentioned above, the key to actually making over $10k per month on OnlyFans is to apply the tactics that the top 1% use.

Making $10,000 A Month — How To Attract Fans

Now I’m going to get into the cheesy peas of exactly how the top 1% creators draw in the kind of fans that allow them to make over $10k per month, and I’m going to include some specific tricks that pretty much nobody else talks about, because they’re so deadly effective.

Pay attention to this section, people, because I’m giving away some real gems here.

The first thing that stands out when I look at any top 1% OnlyFans creator is that they are consistently posting content on social media. But not only that — they are using a specific style of posts that tend to go viral much more easily than a simple promo for their premium content.

Here are the most critical things you need to know about promoting adult content on social media.

  • The algorithms on virtually all of the major social platforms value ENGAGEMENT over most everything else about a post. That means that the more people like, follow, or comment as a result of something you’ve posted, the more the post will be promoted on the platform, and the more exposure it will ultimately get.
  • To promote engagement, you need to engage with your followers yourself. You need to prompt them to comment and then respond when they do. This creates a “snowball” effect that gets others commenting, which can substantially boost exposure for the post when the algo pushes it out in response to the positive signal creating by the activity.
  • Hopping on trends can be phenomenally helpful in generating views and engagement on posts. Be aware of what’s hot at the moment, and produce content around whatever that is. Trends are your friends.
  • Collabing with other content creators who are at or around your level can be game-changing when trying to grow your social media accounts. You can outreach to them via DMs, but a lot of collab deals are actually struck in Telegram groups. If you don’t have the Telegram app, believe me, you need it. Get it and get into as many OnlyFans model or manager groups as you can find.
  • In the adult niche, creators MUST be very careful when they decide what content to post. Certain platforms like Instagram and TikTok are very anal about models trying to promote adult content and offers. They will ban your ass and nuke your hard-earned followers at even the slightest hint of adult content or promo. NEVER post images or video involving focus on your genital region (even if clothed), and never even so much as mention OnlyFans.

The issue of how exactly to promote OnlyFans on social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok is actually huge in the content creator community, because it can be really tricky. Most platforms will delete your account if you directly link to your OnlyFans, or even mention it in your posts, but there are ways it can be done.

Many OnlyFans content creators use “linkhub” pages like LinkTree, Beacons, and AllMyLinks. They will place the linkhub link in their bio, and then fans will find their OnlyFans link on the linkhub page. Now this can work for a while, but it’s actually risky af.

Remember, Instagram, TikTok, and other platforms DESPISE any OnlyFans promotion. If they ever conduct what’s called a “manual review” of your account and check out your linkhub page, they will see you’re promoting OnlyFans and probably zot you on the spot with the Biblical quickness. I’m talking some real Old Testament zottage. No bueno.

The safest way, currently, to promote OnlyFans on social media is to use an “email club,” which is basically an automated mailing list that your followers can subscribe to for free by entering their email addresses.

The creator would link to the email club sign up page (called the “opt-in page”) from their social media bios and then send automated emails out, using an ESP or CRM, that would promote their OnlyFans.

The beauty of this method is that, number 1, it would protect you from getting your socials zotted because there is no indication on the sign up page that anything adult is being promoted.

So, if a manual reviewer ever checks the sign up/opt-in page you’re linking to, they would just see an email collection box with your picture above it. No harm, no foul. And no reviewer is ever going to actually sign up to your email club to see if you’re promoting adult content in there. That’s not their job.

Linkhubs don’t protect you from manual reviews, only from the linkout algorithm. If you get reviewed by an actual person, your OnlyFans link on your linkhub page will get your account deleted.

But number 2, the email club method actually allows you to build an audience of fans that YOU own, not one that can be suddenly nuked by a social media platform. The list of emails you amass is yours to keep forever. You don’t ever have to worry about it being taken away from you by puritanical platforms that are merely “loaning” you the audience, so long as you perfectly toe the line of their often confused and arbitrarily applied “guidelines.”

OnlyFans email marketing is one of the most underutilized, but most ridiculously effective ways to cultivate paying subscribers that exists. Imagine having an audience of fans that you can communicate with directly, sell to as much as you want, and not have to worry about losing access to ever. It’s the absolute tits.

I could go on about this for quite some time, but no space in this article. If you want to learn more about email marketing for OnlyFans, check out my my blog linked in my bio.

OnlyFans Managers and Agencies — Are They Worth It?

Now, it should come as no surprise that the vast majority of OnlyFans content creators do not like having to run their own social media accounts, to put it mildly.

All that consistent posting, interaction with fans, and trend analysis can be difficult for a non-marketer to pull off long-term. Most content creators are not used to those duties, don’t like them, and therefore can’t be reasonably expected to fulfill them on their own. They need help.

That’s where an OnlyFans manager can completely change the game for a content creator, and potentially get him or her past that $10k per month goal.

Managers are typically experienced digital marketers who have been working social media for years, drumming up traffic and referring sales to a myriad of offers. They know how to do it, they can do it consistently, and they are therefore extremely valuable.

OnlyFans managers will typically take between 30% and 50% of a model’s earnings, which can induce a good bit of sticker shock for most creators.

But when you realize that, in most cases, these 5-figure monthly incomes are not even possible without a team effort, it makes sense to go with management. Making 50% of $20,000 per month is a lot better than making 100% of $1,000 per month, is it not?

Realistically speaking, those massive income figures you’re always hearing about in the news are not really possible without a management team. It’s very difficult for a single content creator to handle all of the various tasks necessary to scale an OnlyFans business to over $50,000 per month.

Now, the problem is that, even when a model/content creator decides that she wants management, it’s not always easy to find a competent manager or agency that will sign her. The good managers are extremely picky these days because there are a ton of models to choose from.

There has been a flood of creators entering this business over the last few years due to all the media coverage about how much money is being made, so it’s a manager’s market currently.

The most common complaint that managers and OnlyFans agency owners have is that many models do not produce and deliver enough content for them to use for promotion on social media and updates to the OnlyFans account.

Or, if they do, they don’t do it consistently enough. They may drop a bunch of content one week, then disappear for weeks before they get back to content production.

This is VERY frustrating for managers who are tasked with producing a steady stream of new subscribers for an OnlyFans account. Social media promotion requires a lot of regular content to build momentum and keep the attention of new followers.

If there are sudden stops in posting activity that last days or week, that critical momentum can be lost, and then it’s back to the starting line.

Good digital marketers and OnlyFans managers know this, so they deliberately avoid entering into partnerships with models who they suspect cannot produce content consistently. Any hint this could be the case can get a creator declined.

When seeking a deal, I always advise models to make it clear to a manager or agency that they are very willing and capable of producing whatever content is required on time. They should then make sure to fulfill that commitment once the deal is signed. This alone will dramatically improve the chances that a partnership will occur.

But in all honestly, most models are not yet at the level that competent managers are looking for when seeking to add a creator to their client list. Good managers and OnlyFans agencies will typically like to see the creator making at least $5,000 per month consistently before they will agree to consider taking them on. Yeah, I know, but this is actually a smart move on their part.

Most of the top OnlyFans agencies and managers are not going to take on just any model. They’re looking for professionals who will hold up their end of the deal and be in it for the long term.

By using that income cutoff, they are assuring that the model has proven his or herself as being capable of running a basic level OnlyFans business on their own. If they’re making $5k per month without management, it means they are consistently producing content and realize what is necessary to properly run an OnlyFans account.

The model will probably be much easier to work with, will be more professional, will deliver the needed content on time, and will be more likely to stay at it long-term. Remember, a manager is actually taking a significant risk when they sign a creator. The manager invests time and often money in developing social media accounts for the particular model. If he or she flakes after a few weeks, the manager is up a creek.

So realistically, it can be difficult to get competent management when you’re not yet making a significant amount on your OnlyFans. Luckily though, there IS a way to blow up your numbers on OF without having to find management. It may not get you to $50k per month, but it can definitely get you to $10k per month.

I don’t talk about this method too much publicly because it’s extremely effective, and I don’t want it to get too saturated. But it involves using cam sites in a very specific way to target big spenders and get them subscribed to your OnlyFans. It focuses on “quality over quantity” and does not rely on social media.

The results can be absurdly eye-popping, and like I said, you don’t need a manager or any social media skills to use it. I go into it in greater depth in my “Whale Fishing CheatSheet,” which is free and available over here.

The OnlyFans PPV Method

Once you’ve got subscribers, you need to monetize them, of course, if you ever want to reach the $10,000 per month on OnlyFans goal. The best and most effective way to do this is to use PPVs (Pay-Per-View posts). The top 1% creators make extensive use of this method, and it just freaking works.

A PPV post is an OnlyFans post where the image or video content portion is “locked” and cannot be viewed unless “unlocked” by the subscriber. This is done by paying an unlock fee that is set by the creator. PPVs can be posted to the timeline on a free OnlyFans account, but not on a premium account. On premium accounts, they are DMed directly to the inboxes of subscribers.

The reason PPV content works so well is because it both provokes curiosity and exploits “fear of loss,” which is one of the most effective marketing tools available. It’s one thing to miss out on gaining something you never had — but to lose something you already have is far more difficult for human beings to accept psychologically.

PPV marketing on OnlyFans is the best way to get to the $10k a month goal. It takes advantage of psychological cognitive biases that dramatically increase the conversion rate on offers.

When a subscriber gets a direct message containing a PPV content offer, he feels as if he already possesses the content, since it is sitting right there in his inbox. He just needs to “unlock” it, so that he can enjoy it. If he chooses NOT to unlock it, then he loses the content forever — the content that is already sitting in his inbox waiting for him to open it. Make sense?

This is a phenomenally powerful marketing tactic, and it’s one that is well-known and oft-employed by savvy digital marketers. When you combine this with a professionally written pitch for the content that generates curiosity and excites the subscriber’s libido, you have the recipe for making serious money.

As I mentioned previously, employing PPV marketing correctly can triple earnings on a typical OnlyFans account.

Because of the special effectiveness of PPVs, most creators can get away with charging far more per-minute for videos than they normally would on a content store platform like ManyVids, for example. PPV is, without a doubt, the single best way to sell adult content.

There are lots of other very powerful tactics to increase revenues on an OnlyFans account, but I can’t give the entire store away, now can I?

OnlyFans & AI — Virtual Adult Influencers Just Around The Corner?

Before I conclude this $10k per month on OnlyFans guide, I just want to acknowledge the elephant in the living room that virtually all smart content creators and managers in this business have lurking in the backs of their minds. Artificial intelligence, and more specifically “generative” AI, is about to completely change the online adult business in very fundamental ways.

Knowing exactly how this frankly magical technology will soon change this business will prepare you for what’s coming and, more importantly, will allow you to profit from it. Those of you who are digital marketers should pay the closest attention here.

Photo by Douglas Fehr on Unsplash

As you may know, generative AI tools have exploded onto the scene in the last several months, and they promise to completely transform the way content is produced for the internet. This includes the adult content world.

Already, generative AI art tools like MidJourney and Stable Diffusion can create photorealistic images of people who don’t exist. Yes, photo images of people holding up their phones taking selfies, sitting at tables eating cereal, walking on the beach, etc. You’d never be able to tell these are not actual photographs of actual people — they’re that good.

Generative AI tools are now able to produce photorealistic images of fake people that are indistinguishable from actual photos. And the technology is racing forward at a pace that is leaving experts in shocked amazement.

And it’s just getting started, folks. The technology is advancing very quickly, quicker than all the experts imagined it would. Generative AI tools will very likely soon be able to produce realistic VIDEO footage of people and scenery that do not exist in the real world. Video footage that is virtually impossible to distinguish from real-world-shot footage.

So, what does this mean for the OnlyFans content industry? Well, for one thing, it means that a LOT of new competition is coming for OnlyFans creators. Virtual girlfriends will soon be a thing, and my guess is that they will all have an OnlyFans. The platform currently does not allow AI-generated content, but that won’t last for long.

AI-powered NSFW (Not Safe For Work) images, videos, and sexually explicit messaging will all be available on OnlyFans and other platforms in a few years. And the success of virtual models like Project Melody and Lil Miquela have proven that there is a huge audience for, and interest in, models/influencers that are KNOWN to not be real.

The Future For OnlyFans Creators & Marketers

The coming of generative AI influencers with OnlyFans accounts means different things for content creators and digital marketers. If you’re a content creator, you’re going to have more competition, but that competition will be known to be AI-generated because the platforms are required to keep ID documents on record of performers in sexually explicit videos.

So, there will be two classes of OnlyFans models — human and AI-generated. Presumably, real human creators will still retain an edge, though these days one can’t be too sure.

In any event, if you’re a content creator, the time is NOW to build your brand and fan following so that your business will be resistant to the new cybernetic competition ahead. If you’re established and known, your fans will still want you, and there will still be plenty of money to be made.

Human content creators will probably still hold an edge on OnlyFans for the foreseeable future, but building a strong brand has never been more important.

If you’re a digital marketer, your prospects are potentially unlimited going forward. Using these generative AI tools, you will be able to create adult models from scratch and establish OnlyFans content businesses around those models.

You’ll have all the content you could want to promote your OnlyFans AI models on social media, because you’ll be able to literally create it all yourself.

Reaching earnings of $10,000 per month on OnlyFans will be a breeze for digital marketers when sophisticated AI content generation comes to town. And it’s not a matter of if anymore — it’s a matter of when.

The raw power of these AI tools will soon become apparent and undeniable to everyone in this industry, but the most money will be made by those who are early to the party.
