Sometimes we just need a great beat to get going

Two friends and I started this blog to encourage people (like us!) to get off Netflix and try things that are totally out of our comfort zones.

One of us started going to the gym. One of us got married.

…Let’s say some comfort zones are bigger than others.

But there are days when all the motivational blog posts in the world just don’t help. I could scroll through Instagram travel feeds all day, and most times it makes me depressed, not inspired to plan a trip myself.

Some days, I just need a good song. Here are some favourites that might help YOU stop reading and start trying new things, too.

One Black Sheep

Feel-good music with a bit of a homey, small-town feel. I’ve been listening to Mat Kearney since I found one of his CDs at the back of a thrift store at least a decade ago. I’ve loved every one of his albums. Here’s One Black Sheep, because it’s cool to stand out.

“I was born a love-child of the 70s…”

Something Just Like This

Coldplay lovers! This collab with the Chainsmokers has some great get-up-and-go energy to get you to try something new… or finally ask that cute guy or girl out. You got this!

Say I Won’t

Sing this song to the haters you don’t have yet! This song features two of my favourite rappers, ’90s flashbacks, and a long list of crazy things these guys might just do if you dare them.

“Say I won’t sell my shoes and take my kids to Chuck E Cheese’s with the money...”

Glow in the Dark

Just some catchy techno/pop/rap from Social Club Misfits to get you to the gym. Or the club. But I’d recommend the gym.

“Feeling like the world is ours and I’m only in my twenties…”

If you’ve read this far you can probably narrow down my music tastes pretty accurately. Sorry country music lovers.

Now get out there and do something you’ve never done before.

There are so many more great songs out there. Any peppy tunes you’d recommend? Leave a comment!
