She is free in her wildness, she is a wanderess, a drop of free water. She knows nothing of borders and cares nothing for rules or customs. ‘Time’ for her isn’t something to fight against. Her life flows clean, with passion, like fresh water.”
Roman Payne

Y ou whistled at life, you moved the earth
Zipping through the whispering gust
Lion at heart, conviction galore
All of 15, petite and pure
Rising in love, daddy’s li’l girl
Did the heaven smile at your birth?
Haryana to Bihar, clinking quick
Riding pillion your father sick
You took the bull by the horn
To courage bairn you were born
Oven-fresh zest, garnished with a smile
Where did you learn to count the miles?
You threw caution well to the wind
You Poster girl of dare and grit
In awe, what we humans can achieve
We rose in applause, in disbelief
Muse sublime to Banksy’s grafiti
Atta girl! thy name is ‘Jyoti’
Pray you will not be forgotten
Let there be light
Amen!

Author’s Note: This could have been a Women’s Day post, but I saw more into it.
The resilience, strength and determination of a teenager to save her father from falling is not short of a deeply human story. A story of light.

She is 15 year old ‘Jyoti’ (meaning light).
During Covid and lockdown, she cycled covering a distance of 1,200 Km (750 Miles), riding her sick father pillion in her cycle from Gurgaon (his place of work) to Darbhanga (their home).
The story real in content, touched many hearts and the poet in me was inspired.
But, then why do we write if not chronicling life at its best!
The incident made all the right buzz and was covered by media extensively. I even found a wiki page to her name.
