What are you, O Life?
O Life O life, why are you so mysterious?
You start with a smile and end with a cry
Birth and death both give you pain
You mould us into beautiful creations
But with a twist you come
You come in hand with a thread of destiny
The one that determines our time here
O Life O life.. why are you so cruel?
You give us a short span of happiness
with a foreboding of sad times
You give us everything with a cost to pay
You delude us with so many fantasies
only to know that these don’t exist
O Life O Life… why are you so nice?
Even in times of sadness,
you give us a spark of hope
You are like a pineapple
Thorny with problems and struggles
after cutting in with determination
you let us taste the sweet joy inside
But you only let us enjoy only a little
O Life O Life… why are you so optimistic?
You tell us all tales of failure
But even recite the tales of success
and let us believe that
The candle of optimism and positivity
can drive us safely through
the darkness of dangers and failures
O Life O Life, what exactly are you?
What should we expect from you?
