Aion: Trust Wallet Adds support, Dashboard V2.1, New video tutorials and Documentation for Maven and IntelliJ Java developer tools, Makkii Wallet by Chaion release, Cranberry — a loyalty program that rewards miners launch, Staking and holder voting details will be released soon
Biweekly update 27th March — 10th April
This is not financial advice.
During the last two weeks, Aion team made progress with development. They have released v2.1 of the Dashboard and published Aion first internal Showcases. New video tutorials released on how to use the Aion Dashboard, how to use AIWA, how to use the Aion Faucet. Documentation for Maven and IntelliJ Java developer tools was published. As for social encounters, Matthew Spoke attended TOKEN 2049 in Hong Kong and published a monthly video update. More speakers confirmed for The Aion Rebuild Conference, the second incarnation of the Aionex conference which is coming at the end of April. Mike Mason continues to answer community questions at Weekly Community AMA on Aion official subreddit at the end of each week. Aion ecosystem is impressive and it continues to flourish. Aion Connect is live, and there are a lot of projects build on Aion. These weeks list of Aion dApps and projects enlarged with the addition of August, Cranberry & NCCGroup. Makkii Wallet for Android released by Chaion. Aion community also constantly grows. However, there is a slight fluctuation in the number of subscribers of Aion social media channels these weeks. And last but not least — Trust Wallet Adds support for AION. Stay tuned for Aion Network updates in the coming weeks!

Showcase — A new monthly ceremony:
Showcases are a monthly recurring set of presentations to create information symmetry both internally and externally. Showcases are an opportunity for Aion Foundation teams to share progress they’ve made in the previous four week period. They come prepared with talking points in a consumable group format that covers a 10 minute period (presentation, demo, etc.) In attendance are the members of the presenting “pod” and all “pod leads”.
Check out the latest showcase (March 21st, 2019) here.

Roadmap
Right on target (Phase 1: Kilimanjaro 2018 Complete).
Phase 2: Denali
- Aion Virtual Machine (AVM) Version 1
This AVM is a custom-built, lightweight, performant, and stable VM that leverages key characteristics of the Java Virtual Machine (JVM), providing concurrency and robustness within a blockchain-specific context. The AVM is responsible for running applications on top of Aion. The AVM will include its own scripting language.
- Aion Scripting Language
The Aion scripting language is used for writing chain logic that runs on Aion-Everest and potentially any connecting/participating network. The Aion language is compiled into AVM bytecode and executed by the AVM. The Aion language provides the following features: Defensive programming, Blockchain runtime environment, Blockchain context injection, Security.
- Proof-of-Intelligence Consensus Algorithm
An economic measure to deter denial of service attacks by requiring participants, solvers in Aion-Everest, to perform artificial intelligence (AI) computation. The intent is to motivate the creation of AI-specific or specialized hardware that could be used for machine learning and neural network training in the future.
2019:
Phase 3: Everest 2019
- Participating Network Bridging
The generic bridge protocol is designed to enable the atomic movement of value and data between heterogeneous networks. This will enable the development of cross-blockchain contract logic and free-floating token supplies. - Complete Validator Nomination
The Hybrid DPoS / PoI consensus mechanism aims to achieve high performance while providing a fair and decentralized validator set. This is achieved through a token staking system and partly through a novel verification algorithm based on concepts used in modern neural networks called Proof-of- Intelligence. - Aion Virtual Machine (AVM) Version 2
See also Aion roadmap release schedule (tentative):
- A Methodology for Roadmapping Public Blockchain Networks: publication in official Aion blog.
Aion team splits the scope of projects within the blockchain space between:
- Tinkerers: Those that innovate use-cases on top of a blockchain platform, using existing tools that are available.
- Tool Builders: Those that seek to expand the toolbox.
The best roadmaps are ones from projects that have a statistically viable sample to draw requirements from, ones that must be diligent and organized about roadmaps for their impact to downstream dependencies. Aion team found similarities within roadmaps for these projects that convinced them of the effectiveness:
- Thematic Consistency
- A Logical Breakdown
- Clarity of content
Beyond the principles mentioned above, here is a structural format Aion believe is a good representation of what should be included in a roadmap.
In the coming weeks Aion will be releasing their roadmap to the public with this format as their guide. The roadmap takes into account work being undertaken across the Foundation from research, to production development, to ecosystem funding, documentation and more. From all the things they looked at, arguably the most important was “Recommendations”, a roadmap feature they only saw from the React project.
Partnerships and team members
A Secure Multi Coin Wallet and Browser for Android and iOS.
Trust Wallet has been very busy adding new coins to its secure mobile wallet and browser. Among those coins now supported is AION. Trust Wallet has been known for some time now as one of the worlds best mobile wallets for cryptocurrency. It is secure, multi-currency, anonymous, and tied to some advance web3 functionality you can’t get elsewhere like a dApp browser and decentralized exchange.

Ecosystem
- Makkii wallet now supports AION: A wallet focused on the Chinese market with English localization.
Makkii has a very easy and friendly user interface, users can get started quickly. In this wallet, users can create and recover existing AION wallets, send and receive AION coins, and look up transactions. Makkii does not collect any user’s sensitive personal information, like phone number or email address. Only minimum wallet information is encrypted and stored on your phone.
Besides working as a hot wallet, it also supports integrating with the cold wallet — Ledger. Use an OTG cable kit to make connection between Android phone and Ledger device, a user can import and manage ledger accounts in Makkii.e
The makers Chaion see the future of Makkii as a digital asset hub connecting the Blockchain network and multi-domain business scenarios. The ultimate goal of Makkii Wallet is to create a decentralized, cryptocurrency market for AION communities to help people gain convenience, mobility and security in their daily life.
They encourage users to submit all technical bugs to GitHub, as well as discuss on Aion forums for conversation and inquiries.
August, a Toronto-based digital studio, is launching Cranberry — a loyalty program that rewards miners for mining AION. By signing up with Cranberry, Aion miners can earn AION for simply being loyal miners to the Aion network.
How to Join
After registering with Cranberry, miners will receive PLAT tokens for the AION they provably mine. PLAT is an ATS tokens on the Aion network and is the native token used by Cranberry.
Once registered, as a miner earns PLAT tokens, they can use them to buy tickets in the weekly draws. Weekly prizes total more than 4,000 AION and if no one wins, they are carried over to the next draw. There is also a guaranteed weekly 1,000 AION prize — so someone wins every week. Pop over to Cranberry’s FAQ page to learn more.
While the initial launch is focused on miners, the team has hinted that they plan on engaging other network participants, such as developers, coin holder, and node operators. All of whom can contribute to the expansion of the Aion ecosystem.
If you’re a miner, make sure you register here. If you’re not a miner and would like to try, it’s very simple to get started with a pool.
