Biweekly update on the Cosmos ecosystem vol. 53, 14th July — 28th July

Astronauts, the last two week have been extremely intense and exciting for the Cosmos ecosystem, and we can’t wait to share some of the most exciting news with you!
First, Cross-chain data oracle Band Protocol has announced a new integration with Starport, a development tool for the Cosmos blockchain — allowing third-party developers to gain access to numerous new data feeds. Thanks to the integration, newly created chains in the Cosmos ecosystem will be able to exchange data via the interoperability standard called inter-blockchain communication protocol, or IBC.
Second, the Tendermint team has streamlined the command line interface and added some powerful new features in the new Starport release.
Emeris, a one-stop portal for all crypto apps, now supports ATOM, REGEN, DVPN, IRIS, CRO, OSMO, ION, XPRT, and AKT.
Over these two weeks, governance proposal 51 has successfully passed. This on-chain upgrade proposal is to adopt the Gravity DEX protocol on the Cosmos Hub. Proposal #52 ‘ATOM x Osmosis: Allocate Community Pool to ATOM Liquidity Incentives’ has been rejected.
As for the Cosmos ecosystem news: Crypto.com introduces the new testnet of Cronos, the Crypto.org EVM sidechain. Informal Systems has audited the Injective codebase and Injective Chain. Secret Network is launching private on-chain governance for SecretSwap, its automated market maker. Furthermore, Secret Network passes their IBC proposal aiming at a September 1st IBC connectivity date. Terra’s new $150M Ecosystem Fund introduced. Binance Smart Chain introduced Priority ONE, a $10 million joint bounty program for the BSC ecosystem that aims to improve the security of 100 dApps. Kadena has built the framework for the first DAO. Bluzelle partners with PolkaFoundry to accelerate DeFi adoption through intuitive oracle and NFT solutions. Idena validation results were published. Sifchain is working on the IBC integration and aims to add support for all Cosmos IBC assets. Thomson Reuters rolls out ONESOURCE indirect tax on Oracle cloud infrastructure with Oracle autonomous database. Polygon Studios has been presented, a brand new Polygon’s arm for the Blockchain Gaming & NFT ecosystem. North Carolina Althea Network wins EPIC grant. F2Pool, Stakefish reduce emissions with Regen Network. Short starnames released. And more!
That’s all for today! Stay in the loop!

  • Printing of filenames that were modified and created during scaffolding
  • New flags and functionality for chain and module scaffolding commands
  • New generate commands for generating source code
  • Simplified the cmd package
  • Support for scaffolding BandChain oracle queries

Cosmos Roadmap:

The Cosmos Hub Roadmap 2.0

Earlier this year, Cosmos completed its whitepaper, fulfilling its founding vision of blockchain interoperability, scalability & usability that was laid out in the original 2016 roadmap. Today the Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC) protocol, enabling the transfer of digital assets & messages between Cosmos chains & more, lifts the Cosmos Hub to new levels of scalability & utility. Discover those key developments that are bringing the cross-chain and DeFi future to the Cosmos Hub:

  • Liquidity Protocols
  • Staking Derivatives

  • Kadena DAO: Meaningful Initiatives Driven by the Voice of the Community: Kadena has built the framework for the first DAO, Decentralized Autonomous Organization, on its public blockchain called dao.init. As Kadena’s ecosystem continues to grow, the creation of a DAO will allow for the broader community to provide their input in a decentralized manner. The DAO will serve two purposes, 1) allow for the Kadena community to submit and decide on proposals that aim to advance the Kadena ecosystem and 2) establish a decentralized process that can govern the addition of new features to the Kadena platform itself.
