VeChain ToolChain™ Powers Shenzhen Yuhongtai Foods Traceability Platform for Premium Pork Products

On June 2nd, 2020, Shenzhen Yuhongtai Foods Co. Ltd. announced the adoption of VeChain ToolChain™ technology to power their Food Traceability Platform, starting from the premium pork products by their wholly-owned subsidiary Meijiada Fresh Foods, a chain of stores based in Shenzhen which specializes in the fresh meat and vegetable market.

In order to ensure the quality of their products, Meijiada carries out standardized management of the whole process from raising to sales, and requires that all fresh meat products operated by all Meijiada stores be sold on the same day. Any unsold fresh meat products will be systematically collected and processed, and will not be sold the next day.

As an uprising brand renowned for its high-end products, Meijiada has chosen to adopt blockchain technology. Using VeChain ToolChain™, Meijiada is now able to upload key supply chain data of their products such as origin, processing flow, logistics information, date of packaging, as well as marketing information and more to the VeChainThor blockchain. This information would then be presented in a specialized landing page through a QR code printed on the packaging of the product. When Yuhongtai is planning to expand the sales through large domestic e-commerce platforms, the blockchain-recorded information helps them to build a better reputation.

Shenzhen Yuhongtai Foods Co. Ltd and Meijiada have revealed that the food traceability technology will be initially used for its Yuncha Minzhu brand of premium pork products. Through a scan of the QR code on the packaged product, customers will be able to learn more about the product’s information and most importantly, can be assured of the product’s safety before consumption. More product lines can be expected in the near future when the current implementation is gaining success.

VeChain recognized by German goverment for smart supply chain management

In a study published by Germany’s Federal Office for Information Security (BSI), VeChain is recognized among 300 blockchains for its intelligent supply chain management.

The study also tried to identify possible fields of application for the projects evaluated. The study had 4 criteria that it consider making the evaluations: the blockchain should be relevant in the market, the amount of security incidents, security and evaluability. In this way, the BSI obtained a vision of the situation per blockchain studied.

About VeChain, the study states that its technology is similar to Ethereum and offers a wide range of practical applications:

The VeChain blockchain will store information about certain products. Unlike OriginTrail, VeChain has a much higher market cap and is supported by a high number of large companies. With the study of VeChain and OriginTrail, the field of application “Supply Chain Management” is covered.

As reported by CNF, VeChain has obtained a large number of cooperations with important partners. Together with its partner DNV GL it participated in a webinar to present the blockchain technology and its use cases for the sustainable management of the seas. The event was co-organised between Chinese authorities and Norwegian representatives in Shanghai.

Deloitte says VeChain, Corda More Complete than Ethereum

After partnering with VeChain in 2019, Deloitte, one of the big four auditing firms and the world’s largest professional service network, said it migrated from the Ethereum blockchain network to VeChainThor blockchain.

In a recent report tagged “5 Blockchain Trend for 2020”, Deloitte opined that VeChain is a leading blockchain network in the industry, adding that VeChain and another opensource blockchain platform for businesses, Corda are more complete than Ethereum.

Deloitte made the illustration while comparing VeChain, Ethereum, and Corda. The auditing firm illustrated that unlike Ethereum, VeChain, and Corda network have high security. Deloitte also confirmed that VeChain and Corda’s scalability are better than Ethereum’s. However, Ethereum offers high decentralization that is unmatchable for the other two, the report added.

After PricewaterHouseCoopers (PwC) migrated VeChain network in 2019, Deloitte made the same move, claiming that VeChainThor blockchain offers more advanced features compared to Ethereum.

Australia-Based Verida Health Runs on VeChainThor

Australia-based Verida Health is depending on VeChainThor for its decentralized health care solution where individuals have ownership and control over their personal health data.

Verida is an open-source platform offering decentralized health care solutions for the benefit of healthcare workers and patients.

Verida Health says it makes use of VeChain technology in the health sector, this time that there is an increasing demand for verifiable health data and telehealth technology, to make patients the owner and sharer of their data.

The platform offers a decentralised Electronic Medical Record (EMR) where medical personnel can manage the records of their patients easily. These records are encrypted with blockchain keys, allowing patients be in control of their records, revoke, or share access with doctors.

As well, the Verida Health has a section branded COVID19 Verifiable Credentials, where citizens can keep their health records. Patients can store their verifiable records on the Verida Health for employers or any other third party to access.

The platform will make use of a decentralized ID (DID) to save information in individual devices using a digital identity wallet.
