Week 4

Product Development by Brett Martin

  • Learned how to identify, evaluate, and communicate new ventures to internal and external stakeholders holders.
  • Discussed the processes and tools designers use to think through problems and explore solutions such as Branding 101, UI/UX, and Landing Page Fundamentals.
  • Had a session about product management, why they are critical, and the characteristics of good and bad ones. Also checked the tools needed to recruit capable engineering and design collaborators, specify what you want them to build, and manage the day to day of software development.
  • Learned best practices for evaluating what you’ve built, identifying opportunities for improvement, and avoiding common pitfalls of product development.
  • Prepared product managers to identify, recruit, and nurture the technical talent they will need to succeed in today’s highly competitive labor market.

Pitch and Grill #1 session

  • A few projects (NakRide, Petotum, Arteca and Procmart) participated in the first Pitch and Grill session. The most relevant constructive feedback was given by Maisarah Shariff, Dr. Nabilah Ramli, Dr. Mimi and Brett Martin.
