It’s Chriiistmas! Well, at least in terms of planning. Pinners are already in the festive mindset so now is the time to start your sparkly new seasonal content. And this Christmas it’s all about being conscious; low waste wrapping, handmade gestures, pocket friendly gift ideas, family traditions and ways to be kind at Christmas. Because love is love ALL year round; think rainbow wreaths, brightly coloured trees, vegan spreads and eco gifting galore.

As for new year, staying in is the new going out. Have a Happy New JOMO (joy of missing out) — from hosting friends at home to a solo night of indulgent self care. Think festive fake-aways, party games, face masks and luxury PJs.

As 2019 beckons, give Pinners a fresh new perspective. How to set good intentions; winter escape travel, Veganuary recipes, 30 day challenges, positive quotes and affirmations.

Align your board creations with our themes (full list below) — to give yourself the best chance to get featured in our NEW Spotlight area (Pinterest homefeed). And check out our editorial best practices for all the latest tips.

Please submit your boards for December by 5 November and boards for January by the 1st December.

HAVE A CONSCIOUS CHRISTMAS

  • Rainbow decor: Because love is love all year round. Rainbow brush trees to rainbow wreaths.
  • Pocket friendly presents: Gift guides under a budget are always handy. Create boards of in-stock items e.g. Gifts under £5, £10, £20.
  • Gift guides: Gift ideas for your boss to the office pet. The more niche the better!
  • Adventures in advent: Think daily experiences to handmade gestures. How will you be switching up your advent surprises?
  • Bring the outside in: Festive blooms, pressed flowers and ferns.
  • Do kind at Christmas: From volunteering to food banks and donations. Thoughtful ways to make someone’s day — for neighbours or a local care home.
  • What Granny did: Traditions passed down through generations. We can already smell clove studded oranges, eggnog and gingerbread.
  • Maximalist Christmas: Going all out. Think Mexican inspired llama decorations to shiny mirror balls.
  • Winter solstice: Celebrating the changing of the seasons.
  • Wreaths & table centre: Give your festivities a focal point.
  • Deck out your rented space: Heading to your family home for Christmas? Offer quick and easy temporary ideas for city dwellings.
  • Twists on tradition: Vegan and gluten free recipe ideas. Christmas food to suit all diets.
  • Seasonal sanity: How to take some time out to games for family get-togethers.

NEW YEAR

  • Happy new JOMO (joy of missing out): How to stay in this new year. Dress up and stay in! Or just lounge around in your festive finest.
  • Glitter bug make up: All eyes on this trend. Shimmer and shine this NYE.
  • PJs all day every day: Move over onesies, this year is about silky printed PJs and slinky nightdresses.
  • Pinterest P100 Trends: Watch this space. In December, Pinterest releases it’s annual trend report. Start Pinning content around the hottest 100 trends to try in 2019.
