Bitcoin Hodler is now available for public beta testing on both Android and iOS. Gamers who want to play the game can download it from the Google Play Store on Android devices, and through iOS Testflight. Game studio Hymedall announced the public beta earlier this week.

They build the game using the Enjin blockchain. In order to connect the game with the Enjin mobile wallet, players need to use a link code. They can obtain this code inside the game. After that, the connected wallet will automatically store all in-game items and currencies obtained through so-called airdrops.

This mobile game will remind avid mobile gamers of Flappy Bird, but Bitcoin Hodler adds a whole lot more to it. Gameplay is simple, but challenging. While playing gamers will be able to find currencies and virtual items, while at the same time becoming familiar with cryptocurrencies terms like hard forks and and crypto taxation.

Bitcoin Hodler is designed as a casual endless runner game, but the team will expand the beta with more content. For example, they want to add a progress system. This way better gear can help players improve their results, while space rockets will soon enable them to visit other planets. Each planet will have different physics and kinematics to make them feel completely unique.

Drops incoming

Currently the airdrops aren’t part of the game yet, but they will be soon. In-game airdrops will be communicated in-game, and also the available supply will be communicated. That way the developers want to be very transparent about the available numbers. Besides assets for Bitcoin Hodler, players will also be able to claim third-party items.

To celebrate the launch of Bitcoin Hodler the developers have organized a giveaway. Players who are able to get the most points in a round, will earn non-fungible tokens for the game.

Interestingly enough, Bitcoin Hodler isn’t the only game that allows gamers to collect cryptocurrencies. A1 Fighters is currently in development, and is meant as a marketing tool for cryptocurrency and blockchain companies. In addition other blockchain games like for example Taurion have had an element of finding cryptocurrencies or game assets integrated into their core gameplay.
