Parachain auctions and crowdloans
- Astar wins the third Polkadot parachain auction. Astar will be onboarded at block #8179200 [Dec. 18] at the beginning of lease 6 with the other first 5 auction winners.
- Subsocial will be onboarded as Kusama’s17th parachain after winning the 16th Kusama parachain auction.
- Zeitgeist and SORA joined Kusama parachain race, while SubDAO decided to suspend Polkadot Parachain Slot Auction and deploy its contracts on Moonriver Network. See details below.

Moonbeam / Moonriver
- In this episode, Scott, Senior Developer at SubQuery Network, showcased how to index universal data on Moonbeam & Moonriver Network with SubQuery.
- Chainlink price feeds were integrated on Moonriver Network. Developers can leverage Chainlink’s oracle functionality on Moonriver to build DeFi smart contracts using external data resources and off-chain computations without leaving the Kusama ecosystem.
Hydra / Basilisk
- Last week Basilisk distributed the BSX crowdloan rewards to the wallets of all supporters of the Basilisk crowdloan. The funds will remain locked until the BSX LBP event has been completed. The HDX bonus will be distributed at a later point.
- Hydra has published a post announcing the referendum to triple HDX balances.
InterBTC / Kintsugi
- Kintsugi has been successfully upgraded to 1.3.0: more details in the release notes and guide. Block times are now back to ~12 seconds and Kintsugi is ready to proceed to the kBTC launch phase.
- Interlay will participate in Batch 2 of the Polkadot parachain auctions. Crowdloan will start on December 15. Crowdloan airdrop is 10% of the initial 4-year supply (100,000,000 INTR).
Kilt Protocol
- The majority of participants voted to increase the maximum collators on the network from 17 to 20 — KILT’s referendum #3.
Centrifuge / Altair
So far Altair has completed Runtime Upgrades 1 and 2: state migration from Centrifuge Chain and enabling crowdloan reward claims. Most people have received AIR by now, save for a few exceptions. More on those here.
SubQuery Network
SubQuery invites all potential indexers to register their interest in participating in incentivised testnet. Initial pool of Indexers will be approved by the end of Jan’22. SubQuery Network Mainnet is expected at the end of Q2 2022.
SORA
SORA will join the Kusama parachain auctions, with crowdloan starting on December 12th (app). To reward contributors, 5000 XOR will be minted and spent to buy PSWAP, VAL and XSTUSD that in turn will be distributed proportionally to contributors.
A brand new network, the SORA Kusama Parachain, will be set up as a sister network. Interoperability between the existing SORA network and the SORA Kusama Parachain network will be enabled via a bridge.
SubDao
SubDAO decided to suspend Polkadot Parachain Slot Auction, and prioritize cooperation with other parachains. Subdao Network will deploy its contracts on Moonriver Network as the first step to cooperate with other parachains.
RMRK.app
The RMRK.app RMRK cross-chain token listing is coming to Karura Swap.
Darwinia Network
The first production Substrate <> Substrate bridge, between Darwinia and Crab networks has been launched successfully, the fundamental first step towards bridging Polkadot and Kusama. Wormhole transfers will open up next week.
Zeitgeist
Zeitgeist’s announced its Kusama parachain crowdloan campaign:
- Genesis ZTG Supply: 100 M ZTG
- Crowdloan Allocation: 12,5M (12.5%)
- Base Reward Allocation: 10 M (10%)
+ 4 bonus rewards (2.5 M ZTG)
ZTG token rewards will be distributed immediately following the token transferability event (“TTE”). Rewards from the Zeitgeist Crowdloan will be transferred with 30% unlocked initially upon the launch of the Zeitgeist parachain.
Bit. Country
Bit.Country & Metaverse.Network has raised ~36 million USD from the community’s early adopters. In round 2 alone, the remaining allocation of 12 million USD worth of NUUM was sold out within 90 minutes and the cap for this event was thus reached.
