I want to call out right away that everything in this section is subject to change, more so than the rest of the book. Pages, URLs, and screens are likely to be modified in future versions of Android Studio. But while some details may change, the overall process itself should stay relatively similar to this in the future.

With that being said, head over to https://developer.android.com/studio and click the Download Android Studio button, as shown in the image.

The terms and conditions will likely pop up for Android Studio. Please take the same care reading them as you do with all the other T&C you face on a daily basis. Once you’re done with them, click the “I have read and agree with the above terms and conditions” check box (assuming you do) and click Download Android Studio for [Platform]. The [Platform] will either be Windows or Mac, depending on what you’re using. In my case, I’m using Windows for most of my work, including this appendix.

The download will take a while, as Android Studio is almost 900 MB when I’m writing this. My apologies in particular to anyone reading this that has to download…
