Global warming is the biggest problem in front of humanity; malicious AI’s and nuclear warheads may seem funny compared to this worldwide phenomenon.

If We Look In Different Perspective

Nature is the thing that we all live in but never think of it. We should all be grateful that we live our lives without getting worried about nature, but it does not mean that it will not change. Although we hurt him many times in our daily life, it never strikes back to us, but unfortunately, we approached the threshold of this.

Where we are?

If we cross the line once, it may not be possible to take a step back. In that sense, as nature takes care of us, we have to take care of it; otherwise, it is quite possible to create a boomerang effect. The world’s mean temperature has risen by a little more than 1° Celsius since 1880, and if it reaches the breakpoint, which is 1.5 Celcius, everything may be irreversible. If we start now, we can save our earth from this apocalypse scenario. In case condone this, then it means that we are getting closer to our or next generations’ painful end.

The Light Of Hope Is Still On

Although it is not possible to renew the earth in a decade, global warming can be slowed down or even prevented in the long term with better lower primary education or secondary education, use of evolving technology, and reforestation.

How Can Better Education Help In Our Fight

Initially, change in education is an untapped opportunity to stand against climate action. The reason for this is mostly uneducated people are fueling global warming since they are not conscious and not ready to take precautions against it as both individuals and communities. Trashes in the streets may be one of the striking examples of that.

Yes, I Mean It Really Can Help…

Allison Anderson (2011) mentions how the change in education can help to minimize the risks of disasters that come along with climate change in her article titled “Climate change education can reduce disaster risk and ensure sustainable development.”. What she claims is this, the education sector, although being affected by climate change, provides an unexploited opportunity to eliminate the risk of disasters coming along with global warming, in that sense, we can fight with it.

Some Obstacles In This Way

On the other hand, Anya Kamenetz (2019) remarks that in a questionnaire of about 500 teachers, 86% of attendees believe that students need to be informed about climate change, but in theory. In reality, it is not as expected. Over half of teachers that they have questioned said they do not even talk concerning global warming in their own classrooms. Also, most of them noted that climate change is not in their subject areas as a reason for not teaching this global phenomenon. Anya Kamenetz has touched upon a crucial point, but since some teachers do not want to teach this fundamental education, we should not just give up to inform students about this global issue.

What Can Be Done?

As a solution to that problem, it would be much more practical to first notify the teachers about that global issue. Thus, we can insert that topic into our education systems in an appropriate way. Therefore, it may seem hard to apply at first, but teachers will be willing to teach climate change after gaining information about that topic.

What Else We Have. Tech?

Secondly, technology is making everything more comfortable and keep solving the crucial problems for humanity, so if we use it, it will play a remarkable role in the way of slowing down climate change. Electric cars, carbon captures, and smart home devices are all technologies and innovations that help us reduce carbon emission quite effectively.

The Idea Of A Technology Pioneer

Bill Gates (2019, para. 23) tells the following in his article, it is easy to get overwhelmed and get panicked by climate change, but I am optimistic that we can get in front of global warming. Also, he remarks that if we use the right combination of technological solutions, we may have a carbon-free future.

Other Perspectives

However, Amy Luers (2018, para. 13) claims that we should not be relying solely on technology to overcome this problem; technology cannot solve the problem of climate change by itself. That will require more significant action on the world and much stronger strategies.

So, In Overall

The point is technology has been solving all kinds of problems in varied areas in our life; we should not underestimate the power of high-tech. No method exists that does not contain technology for this purpose of slow down climate change.

In either way, we must switch to use electric cars, use more carbon capture, and use smart home devices in our homes. Electric vehicles and carbon capture dramatically reduce carbon dioxide emissions in our atmosphere, while smart home devices increase energy efficiency.

In addition to these, we all know that poorly managed power is not power. If we badly guide this process, of course, we already should be looking for other methods of solutions. But if we properly guide the power of high-tech, we can solve any sorts of problems, not only climate change by using just technology itself.

The Fact We All Know — Reforestation

Finally, reforestation is one of the best weapons we have against climate change. Since the trees take carbon dioxide from the air and free oxygen, they can help us to stand against climate change.

A Long-term Move

Joseph Coppolino (2014, para. 5) states that as a tree grows, it may eat up 22 kilograms of carbon dioxide per year and emits sufficient oxygen for a human to allow him to breathe for two years. Besides, the elimination of carbon dioxide from the air and instead the free of oxygen helps us to slow down climate change, creating a cleaner, safer world. So, by planting trees, you can fight against climate change.

Is Reforestation Biggest Lie We Heard?

On the other side, Madeleine Gregory and Sarah Emerson (2019, para. 27) say that if we focus exclusively on afforestation to slow down global warming, we overlook the danger of increased emissions.

What’s the truth?

However, since trees use carbon dioxide from the air to release oxygen, they decrease carbon emissions in the air. It is certain that humanity will not rely solely upon a solution strategy and allow its fate to be shaped accordingly. Hence, by planting trees, we can reduce carbon emission in the atmosphere. Thus, we can take care of our world and leave a better place for the next generations.

To Sum Up

The threat of global warming is growing over the years. Without discussion, it has become one of the most significant dangers in front of humanity. We have already raised the world’s average temperature by 1 Celcius in 40 years, and it keeps increasing exponentially. If it reaches a limit of 1.5 Celcius, everything can be irreversible, and we can lose our planet forever.

Some Important Paths That Goes Solution

So, we have to take care of our world and to take action to save it before it gets too late. Still, we have a chance to get our old earth by applying the following three things: better education, use of evolving technology, and reforestation.

First, if we teach our students and children about global warming, they can gain consciousness and take care of our world.

Next, by using evolving technologies such as; electric cars, carbon capture, and smart home devices, we may decrease carbon emission and increase energy efficiency.

Last, by planting trees or at least not destroying them, we may reduce the carbon emission dramatically.

Critical Point Against Our Fight

It is crucial to stand against this global phenomenon together without distinguishing countries; we still have a chance to take everything back before our planet goes away really severely. At this point, that might be our last opportunity.
