Pride and Prejudice is one of my favourite novels. I love its heroine, Elizabeth, for her feisty, witty ways. But I’ve always been curious to know how it would feel to swap the gender roles, and I have to say, it works better than I imagined! It’s both hilarious and horrific — the latter because it’s so easy to accept the novel in its original form, but it feels utterly ludicrous and offensive when you swap the genders.
