This Gay Cis Male Continues to Grow

Let me go back and forth a little to set the stage for the motivation for this story on my personal continuing to evolve and grow.

Another writer for Prism & Pen replied to my piece, An Open Letter to a Cousin About My Being Gay.

Your timing is impeccable. I’m about to go this morning to my aunt’s shiva at my cousin’s house. We’ve never been particularly close. I’d love to ask her and her sister what they know about me being non-binary besides a few public Facebook disclosures that they might have read. More importantly, there were a few incidents at their apartment growing up as kids that are an important piece of the puzzle. I know now is not the time or place to discuss. I hope we can schedule time in the near future to discuss the personal because it seems the only time we ever talk is at funerals and we’re not getting any younger.
