This is part of my #productidea 30 day challenge on which each day I write about a new product idea.

You’ll probably have used Booking.com to book a hotel. It’s one of the best websites in the world. Period. They have a great feature which is allowing you to book rooms without paying for them until the day before of your arrival. Not all hotels offer it, but they are a minority. This feature is also available in other hotel and hostel platforms.

If you book in advance, it can happen that prices drop several weeks later or that hotels that were full, they suddenly have availability later. It has happened to me a few times.

The idea is to build a script that every day checks the price of the room you’ve booked and also the price of a similar room in similar hotels. If there is a better deal, it will send you an email to make the switch.

Knowing how user-centered Booking.com is, they will probably have thought about this; and maybe they will launch a policy to ensure us the best price. It would be another great way of loyalty travelers.
