This is part of my #productidea 30 day challenge on which each day I write about a new product idea.

This is an idea I had many years ago which came back thinking about new ideas. I like to listen to classical music from time to time and I believe many of us do as well. But most of us, at least me, haven’t learned anything formal about classical music and we may be unable to differentiate and appreciate most symphonies. We only know the most famous ones.

This idea should be promoted by concert halls, they are the most interested on bringing more people into classical music. The idea is to build an app for mobiles and tablets where we could listen to small pieces of symphonies and its explanations. It could include the history of the piece, why the artist wrote it that way, which references he had learn from, which instruments I should be hearing each moment (ideally listening to just one of them), etc. The same can be applied to opera.

Currently there are many websites you could read about classical music, there are thousands of concerts on YouTube and there are some courses on Coursera; but none of them introduces you to classical music slightly and on your own pace.

We could also build a version for children so our next generation would have a better music education than we do.
